Should a good system sound bad with bad recording? I agree with the majority of responses, a bad recording is bad no matter what it is played throuh. This is why I have not minded spending extra $$ for remastered cd's of my favorite albums.
Dark Day For Hands On Music-Movie Buyers I admit that Tower should have had lower base prices and sales more often. The selection as jaybo said is the thing. Wal bleeping Mart and Best Buy do not even come close in the selection dept. I have never bought a cd from BB or WM and never will...
Anyone know of a good pressing of Stickey Fingers? The abkco series does sound good but I've yet to find Sticky Fingers.
Hi-Fi in Bay Area? Harmony Stereo in San Francisco has been around for decades. Access To Music in San Rafael is really good. If oyu go to Harmony tell Frank that his old friend Mark sent you. Access, tell Craig or Patrick that I sent you.

Speaker Positioning Thanks to all for the informative and interesting responses. I'll experiment with trying to move them a bit closer together but the audio table that holds my gear is between the speakers. They are a decent distance from the wall but I cannot move ...
Speaker Lifespan Thanks all, I guess I will them them for some time.
A Very Narrow Listening Room I'm very close to my speakers, maybe 6-7ft away. Have no choice though. Zar
No Widescreen of Full Metal Jacket? FP, Is laser still around? Can't use it. Don't know why the hell these and other titles are not on wide format, isn't that one of the main reasons dvd came to be? laser too? VHS really blew it by doing the stupid pan and scan trip. O.K> for cur...
film or music First let me say that I also spend quite a bit on video. I have a large dvd library and a couple of years ago bought a home theatre receiver and 5.1 speakers. Looking to buy a 32 inch lcd t.v. as well. That said I am listening to music at a way hi...
Wooden Platforms Redux Dave and others, never thought this could be so complicated. Thanks, Mark |
