HELP B&W 802D or Revel Ultima Salon2 You maybe find that you can get very close to the performance of the Salon2 with the Salon1 for much lower price point (1/2 the price of new B&W 802D). I listened to the Studio2 with decent ML gear and I heard a little bit more detail (very sm...
HELP B&W 802D or Revel Ultima Salon2 I had Salon1 and I am now considering buying the B&W 802D. I just started my search and the one speaker I really want to hear is the Thiel 3.7. Based on the great comments about it online it seems to be a must listen for my musical tastes. The...
Forward sounding speakers that Rock I am not sure if this link is allowed on A'Gon but it is a great review of the Thiel 3.7 and Bryston 28B-SST amps. A sweeter version of my amps (7B-SST).http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/index.php?topic=43966.msg426534#msg426534Now I really want ...

Forward sounding speakers that Rock In the years I have read this forum (on and off) I have came across many of Audiokinesis posts. I did not dig too deep into his background but I do remember that I paid attention to his comments and suggestions. They seemed well thought out.I spen...

Anthem, Rotel or Bryston ??? The SST line is in my opinion a better amp than the ST line. Noticeable improvements on the top end.I have owned 3B-ST, 4B-ST, 7B-SST, and BP-25. I sold all but the 7B-SST. This is my long term keeper.
The CD you most listened to back in 2007 ? Econoline Crush: The Devil You KnowGreat disk. Recently rediscoved it.
Usher Model Question I listened to the BE-718 ($2500) and BE-20 ($16000) on Saturday Oct 6, 2007 at a Bay Area dealer (Campbell, CA)I wanted to hear what all the fuss was about. There are only two speakers I have heard in the past that I immdiately thought, "wow I want...
Killer Specs for High End PC in 2006 I bought a Dell XPS 410 to serve as a media centre PC with Vista Premiun Home Edition ($2100.00). It does everything extemely close to the spec described in the begining of the thread. It is super quite and quite fast. I configured 2 hard drives f...
Bryston 2bsst I had the 3BST and 4BST with NHT 2.5 speakers (not a great combo). I had similar issue with the highs. I switched to the 7B-SST and the slight hardness in the highs was no longer present. I beleive in general the SST line is softer on top.

BAT VK-51 SE or McIntosh C200? A little off topic. I recently bought the BAT VK-42SE SS pre. From what I have read on the internet it is supposed to sound similar to the BAT VK-51SE (though I have never heard any other BAT pre-amps before). My 6 week evaluation of the this pre-a...
MCD201 versus SCD-1 I have the same build date. I modded to VSEI Level 4.5 which turned out to be a great move. Cost me $2000.00 for the $3000.00 new player. I doubt you would lose that much money if you wanted to sell a modded SCD-1. Check out the reviews on this mo...
Sony SCD-1 vs Musical Fidelity Tri Vista The VSEI level 4.5 SCD-1 is a dramatic improvement over the stock SCD-1. |
