Paying with a cashiers check? Need advice!
I wouldn't do it. I would pay the paypal fees but I wouldn't do it. I actually paid once with a cashier's check and the transaction worked really well, but the only reason I did it was that my best friend lived in the same city. I at least knew so...
Audio Lessons Learned - post your best advice for the newer members!
1. Take all reviews with a grain of salt. Too many times I've read praising reviews of some items and when I tried them I didn't see what all the fuss is about.2. Invest in solid cables. Not necessarily super high dollar ones, but not the single d...
Why so many angry audiophiles?
Too many smartasses with nasty comments on this site. It's getting a little old.
Does Anyone Think CD is Better Than Vinyl/Analog?
In my opinion some CDs sound better than vinyl records and some records sound better than CDs. It's easier to get a great sound from CDs without breaking the bank. It's not the same with vinyl. Bottom line for me, it's all about the music.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Jeff Lynne, "Armchair Theatre"
Name a few albums which helped determine your musical tastes
Queen - The Works (that's when I fell in love with them)Rage Against The Machine - Self Titled (I never heard anything like it)Pearl Jam - Ten (My favorite grunge era album)2 Live Crew - Me So Horny (single) (I didn't know one could sing those lyr...
How I'd spend money given no limits
First of all I'd buy a bigger house that will fit my current system better. Then I'd create a dedicated music room and a dedicated media room.Like other people mentioned - I'd install dedicated lines for the power.Equipment-wise? I'm finally happy ...
Why is black so popular for components?
It goes great with McIntosh blue meters ;-)
How do I pay?
The only time I ever paid with a cashier's check was to someone with a lot of feedback, who lives in a city where I have good friend who's be able to track that person down if we need to. And I spoke to him on the phone many times. I wouldn't do it.
What's the best and/or favorite piece of equipment you've owned? And do you still own it?
My McIntosh XRT 28 speakers. They’re never leaving my system. I just love their sound and looks.Another piece I’ve had for a long time is a Pioneer VSX 505S (bought in 1996 for $320). It’s not high end, but it’s my daily home office receiver that’...
1st Album you Ever Owned?
Sting, "The Dream Of The Blue Turtles." I was 10. I still have it.
Frustrated McIntosh Owner
1st. World. Problems. Seriously? So you wait a couple of months, big deal. Pearl Jam have delayed their tour last March and haven't announced a new date yet. So what?I'll wait and see them when it's possible.
Your vote for greatest (covers) album
Abba-esque EP by Erasure really jumps first in my mind. Covering 4 ABBA songs and making it completely theirs.
Most recordings you own by a single artist, group, or composer
Between CDs, SACDs and albums - I have over 200 Bob Dylan pieces. Every single official release (sans maybe a few recent compilations) including studio, live and all the bootleg series sets. My favorite album is "Blood on the tracks."I've seen him...
