experience with adona equipment racks?
I don't have experience with the equipment racks, but I did order some customer speakers stands and am very happy with the quality especially for the price.
Best Musical Home Theater 5-channel Amp/PreAmp
Both the Outlaw and Rotel are excellent recommendations. One other combo to consider is the Audio Refinement Multi5 and Pre2DSP which was reviewed in the same (latest) issue of Stereophile Guide to Home Theater as the Outlaw combo. The retail pric...
Need speaker cable recommendations ...
Try working with the Cable Company - They provide recommendations based on feedback from other customers, and they also provide loaners for in-home demos.http://ecom3.aspre.net/cgi-bin/TheCableCompany.storefront/
bryston 14b or M Fidelity nu-vista m3
Everything I've seen and heard about the M3 would say to go for it over the Bryston/Linn combo. It seems like you prefer it also. Go with your gut.
5 ch amp decision- opinions please
Hate to add yet another choice instead of responding to your list, but the Aragon 8008x5 is a great amp for the price, but it is huge (107 lbs.). I know there is a used one on EBay that should go for a little over $2k.I bought one for that price a...
I GIVE UP
Trust your ears. I understand that a lot of people like MLs, but if they are too bright for you (as they are for me) and you've tried different positioning, cables, amps, etc., I'd move on from the MLs.
Which Projector??????
Stereophile Guide to Home Theater rated the Sharp very high, but did not like the Marantz. I have no experience with either, but you might want to check out their reviews.
why is nobody buying the meridian 565 for 1200 on audiogon?
I thought your budget was $500! Seriously, from what I understand, the Meridian products work best when the entire system is Meridian. That may not be true, but other people may also be under the same misconception. I too have heard that they are ...
I GIVE UP
I'd sell the Martin Logans and buy a pair of Apogees. You can get a pair of used Stages from $750-$1200. The Stages don't have that "make your ears bleed" high end, and IMHO, are a far superior speaker. Check out the website below for other commen...
what speakers do the best "disappearing act"??
I agree with Catalogwiz - Apogees (I have Stages) do the best job of any speaker I've heard under $10k.
best preamp under 500 for cheap, poor student
You can get a used Acurus ACT-3 pre/pro without the ABM (bass management) for $500. You can get the upgrade for $200 (would make a nice Chirstmas present from Dad or brother).
King of High Current Amps
I'd recommend the Aragon 8008. I've seen the 5 channel model that retails for $4k selling for just over $2k (new), so you should be able to get a good deal on the two channel version. I've driven the Apogee Stages with the Aragon with great results.
