tube vs SS my own little test Mordante I had the KT120's for a short time in the V110. I personally did not like them at all. I liked the Ei KT90's in high power the most overall. But that said a lot depended on which speakers I was driving. With the Dyn C1 Sigs the KT120's we...
tube vs SS my own little test I owned both the V70SE and later the V110. AFTER the tubes are broken in I never had to wait more than 15 min to be fully biased. I found that when I left the unit in standby vs complete power down the biasing was a tad quicker. Now all green indi...
Tube integrated with real bass. Does it exist? A tube integrated with real bass?? I would suggest looking at something that has KT120 or KT150's as output tubes. I will admit EL34's lack the punch in the lows and the sparkly highs but do have mids to die for. I would consider an Octave V80SE f...
Scansonic mb serie Have you tried without the foam plugs since you have 300 hrs on them?

Speakers or Amp Melbguy1 we all have our own opinions and tastes. I've never said Magico are are bad or even mediocre. They are very good no doubt. Please let's bury the hatchet from the pastThanks and Best Ricred1 - I believe the Raidho's are going to give you ...
Speakers or Amp Wow, I attended RMAF 2015 and listened to and looked at several speakers. I'm vey surprised at how many comments I've received regarding the quality of Raidho speakers. I haven't heard too many speakers that are detailed, disappear, and sound warm...
Is Dynaudio forgiving speakers? Wim1983 - I agree with Jafant in regards to purchasing preowned. If you don't like them you shouldn't lose any money reselling them. They may be not cheap but they are a great performance to price ratio speaker. Another speaker to consider in the ...
Is Dynaudio forgiving speakers? Wim1983 - They aren't cheap but you only need a source and 2 digital cables or the wireless hub. So the price is kind of in line with all the components and cables needed for a traditional system. From what I've read the XD's sound best with a dig...
Tube Amp Maintenance Tip... Keeping the pins in the socket tight is the best tip I can think of especially if you roll tubes. Also reseating the tubes can clean off some oxidation.
Is Dynaudio forgiving speakers? Lowriger57 & Wim1983 I like the idea of the active Focus. Very simple. All you need is a source and 2 digital cables or you could go wireless. Dyn claims the XD600 go down to 20hz. Again Otto said sales are slow with the passive Focus. Since t...
Is Dynaudio forgiving speakers? Lowrider57 They already announced new Excite models. Here is a quote right from the factory in DenmarkFull specs will be released with the press release. I don't have the schedules with me right now, I believe the X18 will be in stores quite soon,...
Is Dynaudio forgiving speakers? Interesting, how to know it's old or new model? http://www.dynaudio.com/discontinued-models/focus/I don't think the link is up to date because they don't show the 160/260.
Cable Upgrades or Better Components??? IMO Cables should be the last tweak to your system once it is complete. I say complete because 1 high end cable may sound much better than another (possibly cheaper) should you change components later. It's all about total system synergy to get th...
Is Dynaudio forgiving speakers? If you haven't heard Dynaudio is phasing out the passive Focus line but keeping the XD's. They just announced the new Emit line which I think is replacing the DM line. From what I've also read the Focus 160 used a contour driver with upgraded cros... |
