2017 ‘Keeper’ speakers under - $25K Dynaudio Confidence C4 Platinums are at your upper limit but they also have other models that are quite good for the money like the new C30 and C60. Although with the C30/60 you will lose a layer or 2 of resolution. Room placement is pretty easy t...
Floorstanders dynaudio: Contour 3.4 LE or Contour 30 or Excite X44? fritz don't get too hung up on the tweeter. After all Dyn used the Esotar2 in the S25 - Confidence - Sapphires and Evidence. All 4 speakers sounded completely different form each other. It's how the tweeter is implemented as far as crossover poin...
Floorstanders dynaudio: Contour 3.4 LE or Contour 30 or Excite X44? IMO since you have C1 MKII's I think the 3.4LE's would be closer to your C1's as far as overall SQ. I've heard the C60's at Axpona but not the C20 or C30. I've listened to both the 3.4 and the LE's but not side by side. I would say the LE's are a ...
Scansonic MB2.5 floor stander speaker. Does it complete with often speaker at $3500?? IMO the 2.5's compete with speakers generally twice the price. But with that said setup is extremely important. They need to be 9ft apart toed in pointing to your shoulders to sound the best. The farther you can get them off the back walls the bet...
Raidho speaker owners, what solid state amplifier do you use? No bad. Although I didn't hear 2.1's with the 440 I did hear it with the XT3's. Then we dropped in the Aavik U300 and the U300 had much better control of the music. That said we did use the U300's internal dac when we switched over.
Audioquest PSS cables vs latest nordost I haven’t heard the AQ’s but as a former Nordost Frey/Tyr2 owner I have to say the Series 2 is much more liquid/warm sounding than the originals. Neither has an etchy sound. That may have more to do with the speakers and source IMO. That said the ...
Insane ground loop; anybody wanna try? bigaud brings up a good point. Try and isolate all the receptacles on that circuit and check/tighten all the connection at the receptacles and at the breaker (after turning it off of course). That would cost a little time.
Dynaudio Audience 10 - where to go from here? Do you have any Dynaudio dealers where you could listen to the newer models? Dyn speakers have gotten much better with the newer models. Even the recently discontinued Focus are a great value for the money like the 160.
Insane ground loop; anybody wanna try? @pbraverman Yes that is what I was trying to say. The Voltage between neutral and ground means there is resistance in the wiring. But at less than 1V is not bad.
Insane ground loop; anybody wanna try? Since location 1 does not have the problem but locations 2 & 3 are not tells me the problem is not with your equipment but with your wiring or something plugged into the wiring. So I would suggest either start unplugging devices/appliances etc...
Insane ground loop; anybody wanna try? "Location 1: Recent construction, new electrical service 2004.Wiring is correct. No hum at all.Neutral/ground voltage: 0.1VAC"This tells me the AC is a problem between the Rowland and the Quicksilvers. Question is what? The #2 location has minimal...
Insane ground loop; anybody wanna try? Hot to Ground 0.8 and 0.9VAC? Looks like an open ground. What's Neutral to Hot?
Insane ground loop; anybody wanna try? If I understand when only the pre is connected to the amps you have the hum. Have you tried listing the ground on the pre only? Another thing I would try to further what cleeds is saying is to turn off all circuit breakers in the house except the ...
KT 91 The KT91's are AR branded Ei KT90's. IOW the KT90/91/99 are all the same tube. Those are some fine tubes IMO. Electro Harmonix has a KT90 along with Ming Da. Neither are even close to the Ei in terms of SQ.That said If you are interested in Ei KT9...
KT 91 I believe like the Gold Aero KT99 it is a KT90. I also assume they are made by Ei. If so the answer is yes. I used KT90/99 in place of 6550 and KT88's.Do they look like any of these?https://web.archive.org/web/20110426202420/http://www.manleylabs.... |
