Rega RS1 and RS3 speakers
RS1 is an amazing speaker for the price... have not auditioned the RS3. RS1 works very well with Mira3, should work fine with Brio. RS1 really does need a sub however.
Rel B3 or JL Audio F110
Oh also I think the B-2 or B-3 are supposed to be better than the R's...
Rel B3 or JL Audio F110
I just went from a Rega Vulcan to a REL R-528.. I'm still trying to figure out if it's actually 'musical' the WOW factor is blowing me away.. this particular REL has much more reserve, plays with a sense of total control and lack of constraint or ...

Threshold T-200 would be nice but rarely come up for sale nowadays...You would like an Eagle 2a, b, or c, or Eagle 4... very nice high current amp underpriced also

IF you can find one.. or wait for one to come on the market.. The Forte 1a or even better the Forte 4. Or even better a Forte 4 modded by Jon Sodderberg in CA.
Classic JBLs with Aquaplas surrounds...
Morgenholz: ok I think I see what your problem is.. the surround material cannot be removed very well without messing up or damaging the cone.. then yes it is better to just recone them.. AND JBL should be able to provide exact correct replacement...
Vinyl in the News
(Remember those?) chuckle chuckle ... like, people don't play records anymore.. yeah well, the folks writing this article have: Ever in their life heard music reproduced with any slight resemblance to fidelity of the original event, any resemblanc...
Classic JBLs with Aquaplas surrounds...
Aquaplas was a cone treatment material to add dampning and mass to a woofer cone. It is not a surround material. It was sometimes added to the front of the cone, as in the woofers on the JBL L-100, or on the rear, such as on the L-66's woofers and...

On Royal Scam: I could not find a good domestic pressing, all were just too noisy/distorted. I have a UK and a German pressing, both good and quiet and clean.

Elizabeth: ha! yes those birdies can shred some stuff in no time flat. My Blue-Crown conure and my Senegal have destroyed lots of books esp. paperbacks.. (cage was close to bookshelves) Luckily they are no where near any of the listening rooms.
