The End Of Big Iron? You could just but the amps in the fireplace for ventilation. Also they could be used as a less polluting heat source than burning wood.

Most significant upgrade I agree with the recommendation for Vandersteen 2Ce sigs. That's what I would change in the system. If they are not to your taste then I would leave it alone.
Studio monitors for listening to music? I have a pair of Genelec 1029a for my computer. You should be able to get a pair for under $400 used. They are excellent but no bass. I use them with a Hsu sub for excellent nearfiekd sound. They blow away the m audios, which I've heard and krk ro...
Speaker cables for Wilson Sophia 3 I use Canare Starquad 4S11 with my Watt/Puppy 7's with good results. The Canare cables are a little expensive ($1.35/ft) but I think that they are worth it.
Need Help in having Itunes Tag 1 Tb of lssless Wav Michael,I agree, Wav files should be discouraged. I thought it was a good idea to rip to wavs a few years ago because itunes didn't support FLAC and ALAC wasn't handled natively on the squeezebox 3 at the time. Now I would reccomend FLAC or ALAC, j...
Need Help in having Itunes Tag 1 Tb of lssless Wav I had sub-directories for jazz, classical pop ect. I batch converted one genre at a time. Then, with mp3 tag, you can select all and change the genre. So just sort your wav's into genres. I didn't tag the year. Various artists can be tags as vario...

NAS or USB drive to stream audio to a Squeezebox ? My solution is to use an old laptop to run Squeezebox Server.I have found running it on the Squeezebox touch problematic (slow) with a large library. For ripping, I suggest dBPoweramp. Flac will be fine if you don't use Itunes.
Pass Labs Aleph Question - balanced vs unbalanced? Ghostrider45,I've reviewed the schematic again as well as the service manual for the Pass Aleph2. The input is a differential pair and the output stage is single-ended. This means that the input stage will reject common-mode noise and benefit from...
Pass Labs Aleph Question - balanced vs unbalanced? Pass aleph amps are balanced (differential) I've looked at the schematic. They are single-ended in that they are not push-pull. This is a different use of the single-ended terminology. They do benefit from a balanced connection to the preamp.
Best subwoofer for a Wilson Puppy I just talked to velodyne and they said that the software was changed and that now 40 Hz is the lowest crossover frequency.Wayne
Best subwoofer for a Wilson Puppy OK, so I just hooked up a Velodyne DD 12 to my stem with Watt Puppy 5.1's. I'm still experimenting with the settings and I'm having the same problem as Rives. I can't get the crossover frequency to go below 40 Hz. The manual says I should be able ...
