NAD C375Bee or Yamaha A-S2000
I have no personal experience with the NAD/Theil combo but the NAD would be a great match with your Heresy's. The C375BEE is much more potent amd musical than it has the right to be for its price. The Yamaha specs out nicely but and is a beautiful...
Has your audio system gotten you into new music?
Absolutely yes.Of the last 20 CD's I have bought($1-$2/ea at pawn shop), 15 have been female artists. I have always liked female singer/songwriters but have really started to enjoy them and pure female vocalists more and more. Some of my recent aq...
General reliability of NAD T753
I do not have the T753 but do have the T773 that I picked up at a pawn shop and it has performed flawlessly. This is the best sounding A/V receiver I have ever heard. Very detailed with plenty of punch. I can't speak personally about any reliabili...
B&K-ish suggestions for main system?
I happen to be a fan of B&K amps. I think the older amps as well as the newer ones are great, especially at their price points. Warmish/neutral sound with plenty of current to drive most speakers very well. I don't think you can go wrong with ...
How Important is Dynamic Headroom?
Your B&K 200.2 is a pretty potent(and musical)amp. While specs may be a deciding factor when all other things are equal, they don't tell you how musical an amp is. Only your ears can do that. Just sit back and enjoy that movie or music tonight.
Analogue for Home Theater???
I recently picked up a NAD T773(non-HDMI)receiver at a pawn shop for a steal. I moved it into my main system and sent my Onkyo TX-SR705(HDMI)to my bedroom system. While the Onkyo did a fantastic job with HT and having HDMI for audio and video is c...
What is Good Quality & Simple to use AV receiver?
Pdn,What you have stated with most consumer level receivers is true. The link that I referenced for the Marantz SR6003 shows that it benches at 96w/ch with 7 channels driven and 111w/ch with 5 channnels driven. In stereo it benched at 130w/ch. Mar...
What is Good Quality & Simple to use AV receiver?

Great Blu-ray or DVD player for CD Transport
Pettyofficer,I only have personal experience with Redbooks CD's and DVD. I dug these up on the web.http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42397http://www.audaud.com/article.php?ArticleID=929http://www.avrev.com/home-theater-audio-so...
Great Blu-ray or DVD player for CD Transport
Pettyofficer,The Onkyo DV-SP1000 is a pre-BD/HDDVD universal player. It will play all formats(CD, SACD, DVD-A, DVD, etc.) except for Blu-ray and HDDVD. Redbook CD's sound awesome. I have never played any SACD's or DVD-A's with this player. By the ...
Power Amp Necessary With Pioneer SC-25
Under normal conditions(efficient 8ohm speakers, smallish to mid sized room, medium volume levels), the Pioneer SC-25's amp section has more than enough power. With a larger room and low impedence speakers, an outboard amp might be a good option. ...
Great Blu-ray or DVD player for CD Transport
I have an Onkyo DV-SP1000(same as Integra DPS-10.5) and could not be more happy. This unit is rock solid(26+ lbs) with one of the smoothest and quietest transports I have ever seen. While the internal DAC's are good(Wolfson), used as a digital tra...
Front and surround
Vietplus,I say the RF-82/RC-62(I think that is what you meant)is a great HT setup, get the RS-52 surrounds and you will be set. If you like the Dahlqist's better, get the matching center and surrounds. Don't mix and match brands. I am a huge Klips...
Bypassing B&K AVR 507 Pre-amp.
Rich58b,What is keeping you from getting an amp first with the B&K as a pre/pro? The preamp section of the 507 is very good(for a HT receiver) and sell it later to fund a dedicated pre/pro or preamp.Bill
Transport for Cambridge DacMagic
If I am not mistaken, the Onkyo DX-7555 uses the same DAC's(Wolfson WM8740) as the DACMagic with the exception that the Cambridge uses twin WM8740's. It seems on paper that using the DACMagic with the 7555 might have a slight edge. JMO.Bill
