Geoff,If you think you are a candidate for the Nobel Prize in physics, let alone for two like Richard Feynman, go and publish your great insights in Science or Nature. Why does Audiogon not employ fact checkers? Not that I expect much, given the c...
Bluesound Vault 2 now or wait for CES2018?
If you do not want to invest much, there is also the Chromecast Audio. Will work with a NAS.

No but you keeep insisting that normal science does not apply, and you keep coming up with scientific nonsense. It is a bit like Russia’s continuing online campaign of falsehoods, aimed at undermining people’s confidence in facts. It obscures the ...

Geoff, you are a voodoo priest with a business.
Is My Onkyo Receiver's Tuner Dead or Just Playing Posum?
No sound or a bad signal? Does it have a setting to mute weak signals? In that case none of the stations in your new location may pass the threshold. Anyway, I would not worry too much. These days internet radio is at least as good as FM, and a Ch...

No. This is a scam. Think of what is between the wall socket and the generator plant.
Need help selecting a system with Tidal streaming (Maybe MQA) and speakers for around $1k.
Ignoring the possible subsequent bedroom use I would suggest to try to spend as little as possible on electronics (let alone cables) and devote as much as possible to the speakers because they are what produces the difference in sound quality. The...

It is not complete junk. It is a bit on the expensive side for what it is, but it is stylish and convenient, and tests have shown that within its limitations it performs rather well. As for high end, well here is somebody asking a very sensible qu...

MQA may not be such a breakthrough: http://archimago.blogspot.nl/2017/10/mqa-final-final-comment-simply-put-why.htmlBeyond that, I want to repeat that some $200 will buy the necessary electronics. The speakers are where the sound quality resides. ...

Did you measure the response? This does sound like room modes. See the thread on room acoustics: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/room-acoustics-10However, you may also have set the crossover frequency (much) too high. With my main speaker...

And if these claims are true, there are Nobel Prizes to be won (and patents to be awarded).

Dedicated streamers have the problem that you need an app for every service you want to listen to. If there is none, you are stuck (as with many smart tv's). Devices like the Chromecast are so common that no service can afford not to provide an ap...

The result could be predicted. Confront the voodoo priests with the experimental facts that show they were wrong and they will try to change the rules of the game. As for Geoff and Theo, they of course have a financial stake in perpetuating such d...
Does a new cd transport require break-in time?

Sony STR DH 130 for a 2x100 watt rms budget receiver from a major brand for only $150. Add a $35 Chromecast audio and some basic cables and you have $800 left for pretty decent speakers. Not very transportable, of course.
