Sun Valley vs Sun Audio 300b
Hello all to who are still following this thread. I bought a used Sun Audio SV-300BE recently from a very nice gentleman in Nova Scotia where we both live. I like the fact that it is a simple design and there is no global negative feedback, and I...
A MEMBER IN NEED OF SUPPORT
David, I am a relatively new member from Nova Scotia in Canada but we have watched in sadness the destruction that hurricanes bring to the US. We know as we get the tail end of those storms…sometimes they fizzle out and just become a tropical stor...
The lovely Capriccio Continuo Admonitor 311's a real gem. Your thoughts?
Hilroy48, you will enjoy these speakers very very much. I switched out my solid state preamp for a tube preamp paired with my Quicksilver V4 mono blocks with my Capriccio Continuo Admonitor and the sound was phenomenal. These little speakers are a...
Hearing aids for audiophiles.
I was going to say cupping ones hands behind their ears! Really does work parabolicly speaking.
Best Bang for your Buck DAC ?
I own a Denafrips Pontus but it is slightly above your $1,000. The next step down is the Ares. You can't go wrong by choosing Denafrips. They mostly come on the market used when the owner is upgrading to a Pontus, Venus or Terminator or another mo...
Suddenly...one third of my tracks are 'unavailable' using Qobuz
I am enjoying Qobuz for all the right reasons. Streaming services are a godsend for those who don’t want to keep or can’t keep a large vinyl or cd collection. Who has room for them any longer. I only have 100 vinyl and cd’s now which I still play ...
R to r dacs
I own a Denafrips Pontus purchased less than a year ago and I am very satisfied. It was at the high end of my budget but I am very pleased. The Pontus has been upgraded to the Pontus II and I suspect it will be better. I think this would be an exc...
Suddenly...one third of my tracks are 'unavailable' using Qobuz
I totally understand your side...there is something very special to be had when you can touch and hold a vinyl record or a CD. You can see your collection and investment. But the advantage of streaming is the shear volume of music you can browse f...
Suddenly...one third of my tracks are 'unavailable' using Qobuz
Folks, I am very sorry...my error. It turns out those songs that were unavailable in my playlist were due to my local QNAP file server being powered off. This is not a Qobuz problem at all :) Thanks for your suggestions and interest in replying. B...
Suggest one obsure album we all should hear
Esther Satterfield :) you can only find her on used vinyl but she has sang with Chuck Mangione. Beautiful voice and talent that disappeared.
Distortion using Node 2i as streamer with Denafrips Pontus Dac
Hello all,  I wanted to let everyone know that the hiss/distortion I was having has been resolved thanks to Alvin Chee’s help. It took a few weeks and a firmware update has corrected my issues. I am very pleased with the outcome. Many thanks Alvin...
Distortion using Node 2i as streamer with Denafrips Pontus Dac
King Barbuda, yes I did know there was no usb output on the Node 2i...I wish it had one though. Do some streamers have that feature? I am still very much new at this but I had assumed usb out was for computers, maybe tablets?
Distortion using Node 2i as streamer with Denafrips Pontus Dac
I am thinking about upgrading the streamer but I spent my budget on the Dac which was around $2,000 CAD. I do want to keep the Node 2i for the time being until I can afford something better. A few users have same some good recommendations but I ma...
Distortion using Node 2i as streamer with Denafrips Pontus Dac
Hmm, well I am trying to figure out the distortion I am getting. I don’t think it’s the Node 2i creating the issue. I am going to upgrade the firmware of the Pontus Dac and see what the results are. Alvin Chee of Vinshine is very helpful but his l...
