Looking for All-a-round speaker $3k range Agree Merlins are o.k. but only a two way, not good for music needing full range speakers, and they are way overpriced. Plus, they sound their best only with expensive tube gear. You can do WAY better for the $$.
Small But Good Sounding? Try the Radio Shack Presidian - just $40/pr. They are rear ported, but you can plug the port or drill another at top or bottom. Can't lose at that price - and they'll probably go down in Radio Shack's 'spring sale'.Or just find some decent compute...
Aerial 9B's for sale? I would be very interested in a review with some comparisons to other Aerials and other speakers generally. Thanks!
Fingers Crossed That Julius Makes Me A Parlando I want one!!! I've heard the Otez and it was one of the best I've heard, and drove the living sh*-* out of whatever speakers were connected to it..
Should manufacturers lease speakers? Sure. Rough example - Just charge enough in the 'up front' payment to cover most of his initial/purchase/dealer cost. For example - dealer cost on a pair of 10K speakers = 5k. The dealer could charge 4k up front, then charge the $100/month for a 3...
Upgrading to Totem Mani 2's Kind of an offbeat recommendation - Audire Otez will drive and control those speakers like very few others.
Tube, hybrid or solid state for Merlin TSM-MMs? like the Onix. I'd stay away from Classe - I've owned Classe before and did not like it - too homogenized, while at the same time 'glary'.. Strange combo of attributes.. I much prefer a warmish but clear sound with a sharper edge to the transients.
Opinions on Epiphany 20/21's? Absolutely first rate.. Hear them and you'll be amazed.
Best Integrated for Sonus Faber Agree with the BlueCircle for hybrid. Look also at Unison and Pathos. Would recommend Plinius solid state.
New Acoustic Zen Adagio loudspeakers .. I appreciate your tonge in cheek... I was zipping through and didn't read it right. I am the worlds worst about using cryptic wafts of dry sarcasm on the web and emails, etc. which I expect folks to 'hear' with the smile in my voice. It's all g...
New Beryllium drivers by Usher at CES2005 ...heat pipe, then they aren't Eton's 'top of the line' as you say. http://www.solen.ca/eto.htmThey sound like nice speakers though - I'm jealous! I like the DAppolito layout and the the Eton drivers are top notch (some would say and I would not d...
New Acoustic Zen Adagio loudspeakers I've been aware of AZ since Robert Lee left Harmonic Tech and have read reviews on almost all of his different cable iterations since the company inception. AZ is quite well known to anybody that follows this business. I was asking about who made ...

OK WILSON OWNERS. HERE IS YOUR CHALLENGE Yes, khrys, tounge FIRMLY in cheek. It was late last night when I was reading through the forums and the 'challenge' just struck me as funny in an adolescent way (no offense AlDavis - sorry about that). I'm sure the Chimeras are very good speakers...
