I'm not a fan of the bigger Maggies 3.6/20.1 but do find the 1.6/1.7 very good sounding speakers and quite possibly the best value in hi-fi today..regards,

Lewm, The LP12 is still a great sounding table today , a good friend has one and it still charms the soul and a very good deal used i might add.We should all rejoice that nail dragging thru a groove is still with us 30 yrs after it's imminent deat...

The only thing proven is that DD,BD,ID, can sound good..I don't think i will be throwing away my Wilson Benesch as i did my lenco 30+ yrs ago. At the time an LP12 would walk all over it. Obvious today that people can and do get great sound from DD...

Inertia is from the flywheel effect of the platter, the torque comes from the motor system...

Canam , With a high mass platter and big motor the word "Torque" comes to mind with BD, TT and or any TT for that matter. An idler cannot compensate unless it's motor has a closeloop/ servo/speed control system..Regards,

Suspended BD table for me, just my preference as i have heard great sound from both suspended and non. I haven't heard an idler wheel table in 35 yrs so cannot comment...

Hello Byron , Great response and agree with a lot of it ..Personally , i have been around SOTA type systems for the better part of 35 yrs and have yet to hear one that would be mistaken for real. I will fully agree the recorded medium is a big par...

Irvrobinson, blind listening test while fastidious are only valid and relevant to the small group(s) participating.. The Subjective nature of Audio is well .............

5% is a bit harsh , i would give the very best 45% of the real deal and figure on that system using at least 2-3 kw of power to get to that 45% figure...

A long, long, time ago you actually heard music being played when you walked into an Hi-Fi store , you could actually touch, feel and listen... The nerve ................
