I've finally lost it Well then I hope you have answered your own question. Rationality now says you should apply the $4,000 towards tweaks.BTW, did the word yesteryear have any type of effect on you? I did for me as I replied to you. I guess it inspires some kind of C...
I've finally lost it A tough call indeed. I would first analyze whether or not you are at all excited about the titles available from yesteryear. Assuming you are, I'm with you, go whole hog on the TT. Perhaps I scared you off by using the word yesteryear. If so, mayb...
cartridge leads Ridge Street Audio is offering a phono cable upgrade that looks to be impressive. I haven't had it done yet myself, but intend to.
Is it worth spending $10k on CD-only player today? IME Fbhifi hits the nail directly on the head regarding one element of this debate with his assessment that"Until someone has heard the latest generation of bleeding edge CD players, the question cannot be answered accurately. After they've been c...
Sound is too thin. What to upgrade, add or remove? Zcable Heavy Thunder power cords and good component isolation might provide some more weight with your setup as it sits.
Tube Amp Suggestions I am not sure about the pairing with your speakers, but Atma-Sphere M-60's have done the trick for me.
Besides Audio, what other ''passion'' do you have? My Lord (Jesus)My wife ;-)My childrenNFL - Arizona CardinalsNBA - Phoenix Suns
Your First System A Marantz receiver, Acoustic Research speakers, Acoustic Research turntable. I don't remember what it was hooked up with or what phono cartridge I used.
Is it worth spending $10k on CD-only player today? Presumably the answer to this question depends on the individual and their priorities. In my case the answer is yes, it is worth it to me. I want outstanding sound, in digital format, right now.
Monoblock Suggestion? Electronic Visionary Systems is coming out with a digital amp in the very near future. They are being beta tested right now. They aren't monoblocks per se, but I suspect they can be used as such, provided you purchase two of course.
Monoblock Suggestion? I am sure some here, like myself, didn't respond because we didn't have anything useful to offer. My amps, Atma-Sphere M-60's perform better with higher impedance speakers. I am not at all familiar with your speaker, but it would not be a good mat...
Best Tweak??? I second Docsavage ZERO recommendation, but it is system dependent. My previous speakers (N.E.A.R. 50Me II) benefited greatly from the ZERO's. I inserted one pair and was very happy with the improvement to the bass. I then tried a different config...
Best Tweak??? One of the best I have tried are Marigo VTS tuning bands applied to the basket arms of dynamic speaker drivers.Ganymede VCS roller bearings under my Machina Dynamica Promethean isolation platform is another I would highly recommend.
Broke and still not happy Gellis1,If I remember correctly the Marigo bands are about $70 per driver pair. If the basket arms are of smallish circumference you can treat 2 driver pairs. These can add significant "involvement" for a relatively modest investment. There are loa...
Where do I go from here, keep it clean I couldn't access your system through the link so I don't know what you are using for component isolation. I would strongly urge you to consider Machina Dynamica platforms under your components before any other upgrade. They have made a huge diffe... |
