ITUNES v7 any good? When I purchased the Nano 1G I thought (use it when I exercise, mostly) I'd NEVER fill up the 250 tune capacity. Not near it. Well, lo and behold, I filled (220 songs, because the songs were obviously pretty lengthy- 250 is really just an estimate...
What is bias a tube amp ? Is it difficult? I don't understand auto biasing vs manual biasing? Why wouldn't all tubes be auto/self biasing? What is it about the nature of an amp, or the manufacturer, or whatever, that one would produce an amp without this feature? thanks in advance, warren :)
best songs to discern a good system fish, welcome to the 'gon. If you're wondering why you're not getting the feedback you desire, it's because there are oodles, and oodles of this in the archives. Been there done that so many times, it hurts. You'll find tons of listening reference...
Tube pre-amps: turn off when not in use? I suppose, depending on the manufacuter, the standby mode may work differently to keep the amp/pre amp toasty?
Tube pre-amps: turn off when not in use? Both my tube amp and pre amp have a standby mode (thank god) which keeps them pretty toasty. When I fire up my rig: 30 minutes to sonic blast off. Otherwise I would probably be talking about 2 hours...
Shouldn't the Bass be felt? Duh I don't think you're talking about feeling air move from what I have read from some of the posts. You are into being pounded by SPL nadir Hz bass that most of us audiophools, while loving it every once in awhile, would not trade the beauty of the ...
Shouldn't the Bass be felt? Duh I own Zuaudio's Definition 1.5. I have had many speakers in the past 30 years, but the Definitions are the first speaker that I have owned that do deep, visceral, palpable, air-moving bass and give up very little in the midrange. Very little!! Of ...
845 Tube vs KT90 YOU mentioned that they "come with drawbacks" What are the drawbacks you're talking about?
845 Tube vs KT90 I believe they still sell the mono blocks, as well, but the price is signifcantly higher. More like $19k a pair! Darkmodebius, what are some of the drawbacks of doubled output power? I'm not going there, but interested never the less. warren :)
845 Tube vs KT90 There is a Bel Canto SET40 amp for sale with KR845 tubes on the 'gon for a ridiculously great price. It's the same amp I have, less the KR 845s. $2500!! They still, (although it is not on their web site) make this amp. Sells brand spanking new for...
Wife/girlfriend or audio: if you had to chose? I wouldn't be married to anyone demanding that I give up anything that I love. Especially for her family. In fact, if she said played the family issue, I'd take a home equity loan out and purchase a rig, that would hopefully help her pack. This, i...
845 Tube vs KT90 Bartok, is it ever reliable to convey via language what a tube, component, etc. brings to music? Still, wouldn't you, regardless of what beautiful descriptive language you read describing a tube etc., want to listen yourself? The CES show is your ...
Feedback on Audiogon fair enough
845 Tube vs KT90 Funny you should ask. I posted the answer to that question on the 'gon just today. You'll find it. It's "Nirvana at last?" And yes, I can keep my thermostat down a degree or two when listening to my rig..lol..
845 Tube vs KT90 Gunbei, I'm presently running with a Bel Canto SET40 matched with the Bel Canto SEP1 preamp. They work beautifully together. Classical music sounds beautiful to my ears... |
