Any New Music capture your fancy ?
I think a lot of 'Goners might enjoy the Greencards, a band that is reminiscent of Nickel Creek or even Alison Krauss and Union Station. I believe the record is named Weather and Water: content good, sonics good, playing superb...in short, a very ...
What is your idea of a Perfect Album?
Oh yeah, can't bear leaving off Lucinda Williams' "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road."

Supratek Tubes and Tube Swappin' for Everybody
Perhaps Wc65mustang can take the money he is saving on tubes and enroll in charm school.
Preamp Deal of the Century
I think there are at least a few of us fortunate enough to have had both the First Sound and Supratek preamps in our systems at various times, and in all fairness I should preface my remarks by saying it seems to be a split decision on which is "b...
Your favourite recordings that everyone else hates
Ornette Coleman generally clears the room. Captain Beefheart clears the whole house, and the property. I love 'em both.
Bottle Rockets- Great unknown Band- Still Exist???
Ozzy,I believe the band is "down" to three members, with Henneman and drummer Mark Ortmann remaining from the cast that brought us "24 Hours a Day." Although departed guitarist Tom Parr wrote a handful of good songs, it is Henneman who was and sti...
Bottle Rockets- Great unknown Band- Still Exist???
The band has gone through some personnel changes in recent years, but main man Brian Henneman is still on board writing great songs. Try out the "Brooklyn Side" and "24 Hours a Day" CDs for starters. Great band, great albums.
Tenor or Lamm hybrids for alternative rock ?
Agree with Streetdaddy. I have and love the P10s, and also share your taste in music. You'd be hard-pressed to beat them at $3.5K.
Your favorite but unknown
Freedy Johnston, "Can You Fly"Just a criminally overlooked record from the early 90s. The songwriting is just unbelievable.
Where do I go from Eva Cassidy?
Try Linda Thompson, either her solo work or collaborations with former husband Richard, guitarist extraordinaire. Start with "Shoot Out the Lights" and "Hokey Pokey," then start exploring. You won't be sorry.
Preamp Deal of the Century
Khrys,You may not know a thing about Supratek gear, but at least you have me convinced that you are an absolute authority on what idiots know.
Sophomore Slump? The best 2nd albums of all time
Nirvana's "Nevermind."
The Best Live album
Wildoats,Most of the Village Vanguard recordings that I have heard are of excellent quality, particularly the Coltrane and Evans sessions, which are not to be missed. The complete Vanguard sessions with Coltrane were released in a 4-CD box set a f...
The Best Live album
There are several great jazz albums that were recorded at the Village Vanguard. John Coltrane's, Bill Evans', and Sonny Rollins' recordings there are especially recommended.
