Thanks Jack.By "out" do you mean raising the height in the rear spike only of the stands? The speakers are now 5.5 inches higher off the floor than before.Unfortunately, I can't move further back my seating position without encountering room proble...

I did manage not to screw-up the screwing-in of the spikes this time and the setup of the stands is now complete. Once again, thanks. Two follow up questions:1. I understand that filling the stands with sand or leadshot is sometimes done. Would I b...
Bi Wire Tweak
Well...?(I am afraid of blowing up something, so awaiting conclusions from the braver-than-me caballeros.)
Won't preamps become obsolete?
Forgive me, but, "vinyl wanes..."I think the interest in vinyl and associated gear is greater now than it was before CDs came out. Even my kids, who were both born after 1980, are gaga over the 12-inch-spinners. For digital they are into that MP3 ...
Girlfriends and wifes, how do YOU cope?
As she passes you in the hallway while you are carrying that new-big-package with more "toys" for the listening room, just sweetly wisper: "Honey, it's all deductible."

Rich, totally agree. The build on the stands is world-class and the price is extremely reasonable for what you get. Also, I rang once and the man picked up the phone and answered my questions politely.Highly recommended!

Albert,Thanks for the phone number. Spoke with Bob and, for these speakers, he thinks horizontal is the best way to set up the stands. I also need to use a bit of oil to work the spikes in smoothly. I was not using any.Jd,I will take your suggesti...
Vibration Problem
Inspired by Albert Porter's system setup (my system is "nowhere" near as accomplished) I decided to move all the front end stuff 23 feet away behind a wall where vibrations from my speakers and subwoofer can not be felt. All that remains by the sp...
I have serious AC questions. Help. Powervar?
I second the Powervar. Even with dedicated lines, my front-end gear's overall sound improved after hooking them into the Powervar. My amps, however, plug into the 20W wall outlets.I have not tried any other purifiers, protectors, etc, since the Po...
Can someone explain how power cords help if...
Sean,Thanks for your post. For some reason, however, my Bryston 7 BSST sounded a bit more "dynamic" and "fuller" (best I could come up with, sorry) when I replaced the stock chords with the more substantial JP Cables Maximum Gold models.I don't th...
How many audiophiles bi wire their speakers????
Hi Wadedwyer,Good luck with your exams, you know what's going to buy you expensive audio gear in the future!About the (ahem) intrusive young lady and your gear...lift the ground on your amp (internally as well as externally. Make sure you wear rub...
Power Cords Snake Oil ??
For all the hyperbole in this thread, (in particular surrounding much of Mr. Corona's comments, no one has answered Mr. Drubin's question above. Searching previous threads on "Sahuaro", there is a mention in one that an Audiogon member has auditio...
Power Cords Snake Oil ??
Mr. Corona,Did I miss the name of your power cable in this discussion, or is it still under development? If I did miss it, somehow, apologies. Could you repeat it?Thank you.
