Philips JAN 6sn7 WGTA
Can't say that I have but the website for tubeworld - www.tubeworld.com is pretty handy. If price is any indication of sonic performance / demand, you can get a good idea there as well as some of their house impressions. Good Luck
6sn7 tube question
Just a side note; It could be a short lived sonic experience if you don't watch the maximum plate voltages. NOS 6SN7's can run from 275 VDC (for a 5692), up to 450 VDC for a 6SN7GTB series. You should contact your amp manufacturer before dropping ...
Will I blow anything up?
Did some digging; this out of an owners manual for the VAC renaissance 30/30-"A word about impedance matching - If you bi-wire your system (run separate speaker leads from the amplifier to the high and low frequency transducers)you may discover th...
Will I blow anything up?
Almarg, are you out there? What's your take on this.Rgds,Clay
how big a speaker can you put in an 11 x 11 room?
If you size your choice accordingly, you could easily reposition your speakers to voice out the 6ft opening when entertaining in that area. Mobility of previously mentioned sub unit (great suggestion BTW) would be helpful too since some feel a sub...
300B replacement
It's my understanding that the WE 300B may have come with a spec sheet. With that knowledge, WE can at least come close to matching some of the parameters. It may even be feasible to send them your present tube for matching, why not give 'em a cal...
MDF versus Baltic Birch?
I'm presently at sea working on a ship, but as I recall it's called "Tight Bond". It's light brown in color and water based, very similar to Elmer's cabinet making glue but slightly higher on the food chain - unless someone can talk me into someth...
MDF versus Baltic Birch?
Wow, great info guys. The MDF sheet that I have is the kind that can stay submerged in water w/o swelling (it's for use in the humid islands here and the supplier has had a sample piece in a 5 gal. pail of water for 2 yrs for display purposes). Bu...
MDF versus Baltic Birch?
I see that I missed this recent thread, although quite diversified on MDF / Plywood construction. Not to belabor this topic, due to construction costs and availability I was thinking about using Baltic Birch on the acoustic side of the enclosure a...
What would happen if?
A complete path is certainly not required for current flow. A capacitor connected across two battery posts is a perfect example. We all can agree the di-electric separates CONTINUOUS flow.
What would happen if?
I wouldn't do it but also for comparison reasons. Wouldn't the unconnected pair impart unneccessary capacitance at the amp's outputs? Good luck.
Despise conventional dome tweeters
GO HORNS! Efficient too!
choice of midrange cap?
Kirkus: That's good to hear as I was concerned that time smear would result from "by-passing" a 25uf cap with a 15uf to achieve 40uf. Thanks
choice of midrange cap?
Johnk: I see that Clarity has three versions. Any noticeable difference between them in your applications?Guys: How do the voltage ratings come into play? I like the thought of using a lower voltage value to take advantage of the thinner di-electr...
