Adcom GFA5500 2ohm stable? & house wirinig Are parasound amps any good? I thought those amps are better then my adcom so I was planning on using those to power my speakers. Would I be better off to purchase a new/used amp to run my kappa 8.1 main speakers.... & then do a sub at a later...

Adcom GFA5500 2ohm stable? & house wirinig Any suggestions on what amps I should consider? I only paid $400 for my amp.... probably can't go much more then $1000 for whatever I would buy. I have had my eyes on sunfire stuff.... how are their amps? I saw they have a amp that's 600x2?
Adcom GFA5500 2ohm stable? & house wirinig awesome.... thanks for the input everyone!!!My car audio adcom stuff is stable below .5 ohms but I didn't think their home amps were built like that. I guess I need to either get 2 subs that will allow the channels to run at 4ohms.... or fund a di...
center channel placement ? thanks for the info!!!I was debating on buying 2 infinity kappa centers (use the same tweeters I use & a 5.25in driver) but I am concerned they might not have enough mid.... Those would be cheaper & easier to position then the kappa 5.1's ...
Sub DIY vs mass produced? hmmm... I assumed her receiver didn't have one & that the sub itself had the x-over. I beleive her receiver does have rca outputs... but I will need to go look I guess... thanks!I definantly cannot swing that for a sub... let alone the amp to ...
Sub DIY vs mass produced? yea... those sub specs were definantly impressive!!!! But it better be for what they are charging.... OUCH :)I will try to remember emotiva... I was considering sunfire (read lots of great stuff about them) & a few others..... probably used.
Sub DIY vs mass produced? I am going to try a paradigm x-30 for now. I was told to get a outlaw x-over (icbm1 or something like that) but I couldn't find one. So I am going to try the paradim x-over & I will see how it works.& yea, mostly HT.... but if I can get it...
What sub x-over to get? Looks like a great product, only 10x's what I wanted to spend :) You wouldn't happen to have a more affordable non-amplified version would you? The subs I plan to use do not need anything close to 1000 watts..... thanks for all the input....
What sub x-over to get? I would say mostly for home theatre however I have a old Denon ACR-3000 & I do not beleive it has a internal x-over. I do want to get a newer processor or receiver but it looks like that's a while away. The acoustics in my room are kinda crapp...
Yamaha or Denon ? Many years ago I sold electronics & the receivers we carried were Yamaha & Denon (& some lesser brands). I chose Denon for it's SQ & I also prefered their ergonimcs, still do today. My present Denon has been 100% trouble free &...
tweeter cutting out, what to do Oops... I meant to say they are bi-wiredI did swap the leads & it's still cutting out the same tweeter. Could it be the wiring inside the speaker or the tweeter itself?thanks
tweeter cutting out, what to do thanks for your helpI forgot to mention I can play music from XM/DirecTV at over 3/4 volume with zero issues. The speakers are not bi-wired & I will swap the leads now
Mixing a Stereo pre-amp with HT Pre-amp processor New or used doesn't matter. Probably better off with used since my budget is so limited. Presently I am using a 15 year old Denon AVR-3000 receiver. Also, i mean under/sub $1000 for the price of the pre-amp. I didn't mean a subwoofer :) thanks tho...
Mixing a Stereo pre-amp with HT Pre-amp processor Can you guys suggest a manufacturer which has the pass-thru option & is also in the sub $1,000 area? |
