Plinius or YBA? 8200 II matches up well with Totem Forests. I wouldn't condider this combo warm sounding at all. AQ Sterlings were noticeably better than the AZ Hologram. So match either amp up well and you'll have a winner. ICs are AQ Diamond(silver) - this comb...
VPI vs Nitty Gritty I had both. I like the VPI better because the vac was over the record and you can see the results while it's cleaning- Which one Did a better job? er...I dunno....
Send music from computer to Receiver? Why don't you just buy the CD or LP at a record store- Support the artists. Think of it as a contribution to their creative endeavours and the future of music...
Plinius 8200 MkII -- best integrated ss amp? Upgrading in your case might involve looking into separates. But I wouldn't rely on magazine reviews or other's reccomendations. No one has your ears! Good luck- it's challenging...
Tube Amp for Avalon Eidolon Speakers Quicksilver m60's - sweet smooth- Deosn't get much better...
I finally got a Mcintosh amp SSSSSHHHH- Keep that under your hat. You'll cause a recession. MACs are collectable and (yes, overrated). Lots of folks LOVE MACs, but most of them just collect them- never listen to them. Rotels sound great! that's no surprise. Sorry you are unha...
Advice on purchasing classics amplifiers.Which one Hard to know what you like or what your system needs to sound the way you want it to. Depends on what you want to get out of your system - how you want your system to sound etc...Totally your call. Good luck!

Yamaha T-2 tuner lamp replacement Be Brave & open it . You'll probably need a screw driver. Go to RADIO SHACK with the bulbs- You just might find them there....good luck
bad experiences buying on line Watch out for very cleaver buyers who claim problems with purchases - They buy a similar item they already own and replace parts from theirs with the parts from yours AND claim YOU have committed fraud! Happened to me a few times. Mostly with vint...
Shipping prices and buyers... Seller's beware- It's difficult finding parts/repairs for many items. Buyers purchase an item and use the parts for repair. There's a rash of false claims from buyers who swap parts out for their items and then claim the seller sent a faulty unit....
Any feedback on the NY Audio Show NYH? If great (expensive)gear can sound bad can cheap(er) gear sound great? I think yes...! This is was I got out of this year's show. But as past shows, expensive stuff was dissapointing and inexpensive stuff was impressive. Just blame it on the rooms...
Turntable help Please The Phillips tables have more issues with the electronic switches etc than just sounding good. If it spins fine, use it! Get a phono stage, nothing too fancy(radio shack's aren't bad) and run it into the ground. Have to be careful of matching tone...
Best Inexpensive Tuner? Try a Scott, Fisher, Marantz Pioneer solid state tuner, like a LT112b or a Scott RCV (using the tuner section). Built like tanks & smooth sound- better than you would imagine. find one for under $50. I found the Dyna FM-3, TU717 to be overrated.
Turntable upgrade: What to do? My REK-O-KUT is sounding better than my LINN. I felt like such a fool knowing that an $10 estate sale turntable would shame the mighty LINN. Someone bought my LINN so I had some extra money for LPs. Good Luck with those big buck tables! |
