Selling Damaged Magicos Thanks for all of the advice guys. I will take the woofers out and test them with a multimeter. I have one some place. It does seem to me that both of them going out due to being dropped or jarred is pretty unlikely, especially with no external da...
Looking for Help - LS27 or SLP-05 Thanks guys. I went with an SLP-05. I just got it hooked up this evening and it hasn't taken long to understand why you responded the way you did. I love it. It is perfect with the rest of my system.
Amplifier for Sonus Faber Cremona M Mezzanine,I'm using a Pass INT-150 with Cremona M's and it works great. I would think a 6900 would work well also.
Need advice on McIntosh driving Thiel 2.4's After a week with the MC402 driving the Thiel's, I am very happy with the decision. It is one of the best sounding combination I've had. I'm hoping for long-term contentment out and I may have found it. I appreciate everyone's advice.
Need advice on McIntosh driving Thiel 2.4's Thanks for the responses guys. I believe I'll try an MC402.
Thiel 1.6 vs. 2.4 vs. 3.6 using NAD c372 The big question is do you think you might upgrade your amp in the future. If that's the liklihood, I would recommend the 2.4's. I have a set of 2.4's and 1.6's. The 2.4's are sweet with an adequate setup. With an X250 driving them, they have prob...
Intregrated Amp for Thiel 2.4 s Jazzdude is correct. I tried a VK-300x on my 2.4's and it just didn't work for me. They need some power. I'm using a GamuT D200 and the sound is significantly better with more authority. I'd say the W-5 would be a good choice also.
Tubes with Thiel 2.4's The X250.5/X-1 combo was very good with the 2.4's as long as you were listening to a good recording. Sometimes older, lesser quality CD's were tough to listen to. I'd say an X250.5 with a good tube preamp would be a good combo with the Thiels.
New Pass Labs X.5 series versus previous X series I recently purchased an X250.5 and love it. I've seen several amps go through my system over the years including an X250 and an X350. I've never felt content with my amp and always felt the desire to try something different although I really enjoy...
Upgrade Thiel CS3.6 to CS6?? Mark,I don't believe you will regret your purchase. I've had my 2.4's for three or four months and they sound better every time I sit down and listen. I am more content with my current system than I've ever been and I have owned several speakers o...
Regarding people selling equipment to U.S.A. only Although I always leave the USA only box checked since I believe that is the default, I have sold several items and shipped overseas. The cost is normally a deterent for the buyer. There is a bit more paper work for the seller to fill out also.
Best amp with Dynaudio My W6's are on the Fedex truck for delivery this morning. I'm anxious to hear what they do with my S3.4's.
Leaving HT for 2 channel-Good or Not? I love my two channel system, but when I watch movies, I couldn't imagine not having 5.1. The sound is a big part of the movie experience. Fortunately, I've got two seperate systems in adjoining rooms. I don't know what I would do if not for that....
2-channel + 3-channel amps, versus 5-channel amp Ideally, you would have identical speakers across the front and identical amps. But IMO, it is going to take a little more power on the 3.6's than the SCS3 to achieve the same levels. You are going to have to calibrate your speaker levels anyway. ...
2-channel + 3-channel amps, versus 5-channel amp I had a similar setup with B&W's. I used an X250 on the mains and an X3 on the center and surrounds. It worked very well. Currently I'm using an X3 on CS1.6's and an SCS3 and an X5 on PowerPoints and PowerPlanes. This is a great sounding combi... |
