Kharma Reference Monitors
I love the local AA-brewed academia!
Have anyone pics and tech-data for a SU-1 step-up?
Albert, would you please remind me what do you mean when you're taking about the Aesthetix. Do you mean a phonostage with 454 tubes 43 gain stages, a shit loaded of the so-call "audiophile parts" and sounding windy like a seashell form the Florida...
Kharma Reference Monitors
Delancey,Two words of advise. Do not “update” your speaker to “higher” Kharma molders. The “higher” Kharma molders are very poor. The KRM 3.2 are accidentally very successful model.Do not “update” your Lamm ML1 to Lamm ML2. With all Lamm ML2 beaut...
Have anyone pics and tech-data for a SU-1 step-up?
Frank,There is one ET SU-1 somewhere within this site for sale. Although the seller asks close to 150% of the original price but if you are serious about analog then SU-1 is unavoidable item. There is nothing remotely close. Good luck,Romy the Cat
Denon/Shelter with SME 309 and Ear 834P
SME 309 is a faulty arm. Although I question if it is important in a context of that 103R but I would suggest (If you’re wiling to stay short) going for SME 3009. Nether 103R not 501 will have any bass with stock a SME and you will need to ad mass...
Hovland HP-100 vs. CAT SL1 Ultimate: Feedback
Sorry, Kalan. My thinking about audio is too radical, too multifarious and too advanced to be able hosted at this site. Any more or less valuable comments I made (and that were greatly appreciated by people to whom I forwarded them) were rejected b...
Hovland HP-100 vs. CAT SL1 Ultimate: Feedback
Kalan,My comment had nothing to do with advise to spend “money to get decent pre-amplification”. You asked about $6-7K unit and this was why I referred to them. Unfortunately the preamps I mention are not the preamps but just a bunch of the electr...
Hovland HP-100 vs. CAT SL1 Ultimate: Feedback
Hovland, CAT, BAT, Krell, AR… and some other units within $5-7K are unfortunately the very faulty as the preamps and as phonostages. They are kind of the hi-end’s mass-market black boxes “for kids”. But it is what you’re looking for, do you?
Better Amps For Talon Khorus CAT JL2 or Tenor 75?
*** This is hardly the first thread I have read which you posted asinine commentsI sincerely feel that of you find my comments absurd then I am a healthy person.*** I happen to be VERY familiar with what the Tenors are capable of and Mikelavigne i...
Better Amps For Talon Khorus CAT JL2 or Tenor 75?
*** i never heard bass texture…Are you talking about the farts form the Kharma’ ports? Did you measure/heard what Tenors do against any not reinforced or artificially equalized bass? Ah! Someone get the Kharma’s bass when the VC jumps out the gap ...
Better Amps For Talon Khorus CAT JL2 or Tenor 75?
With any dead and “inverted” speakers the Tenors will do good job to impress an average “sounds listener”.
Purist Audio new cables
I do not know how those new PAD’s cables but the “old” PAD cables (Colossus, Proteuss, Dominus) could not be broken-in by ANY broken-in devises. If you even connect the entire output of the Hoover Dam to a PAD cable and run it for days it will not...
Purist Audio Venustas Speaker Cable - Any Good ?
Nope, you presumption that I was looking for “an assurance” was not correct. My intentions were to expose the wrong evaluation methods you used and to indicate the irrelevancy of your conclusions. Unfortunately you approached the task of the cable...
Purist Audio Venustas Speaker Cable - Any Good ?
Bob, I am very quires about your comments and I have a couple of the questions to ask.1) What kind of subjective or objective evaluation methods you used to surmise that Venustas was “faster” then Dominus?2) Can you elaborate of the Venustas focus...
Best recording Rachmaninov Piano Concerto 4
Unquestionably the `performance-wise it will be the performance from 1957 by Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli with Philarmonia Orchestrea under Gracis. Michelangeli “owns” this peace and from my prospective no one before or after was not able to ap...
