Small Floor Standers
timrhu and petland speak truth. sub issue IMO depends on sub and settings... if waf is met with original kestral looks and they indeed do sound equal to K2's you should consider those. i bought nearly new K'2 for about same price so i too think pr...

39" w/o spikes. you may be surprised with the effect of mixing light and dark woodtones in a room. it creates a sense of drama and highlights the wood grain more on all the wood furniture as opposed to all the same tone just muting into a solid bl...

timrhu is right about covers, but the nice woodwork flows directly to drivers with no plastic or cheater plates to mar the look. K'2's did not offer hr version, went with top quality parts and cut out the hasssle in building 2 types. go to web and...

the kestral 2's will fill the room.... but adding a sub in any situation with smaller towers can help. On impulse i recently bought a closeout M+K 12" 250 watt sub and cross it over at lowest point. sound is not fuller but there is a lot more deep...

imo polks are more rock 'friendly' than more 'high end' spkrs for same $. more pronounced bass and 'crisp' sound. BUT, you mentioned you did not need LOW bass and brightness. unless you address room acoustics they may be a bit bright in YOUR space...

i listen to the kestral 2's in a big space and they don't seem 'lost' altho i'm not sure what that term means exactly. i think the 'soundstage' is quite large actually. to me it is about 'soundstage' rather than speaker size. some large cabineted ...
Question about Meadowlark E Floorstanders
i drive kestral 2's with jolida 60 WPC tube amp but used a NAD 170 WPC amp previously and yes they do not require the 4 ohm setting if you have a choice. the big NAD played them loud enough for nightclub use with no damage so forget about overpowe...

meadowlark kestral 2's are great, but i just saw an ad for their big brother shearwater hotrods on a-gon this A.M. for @$1,200! snap up those guys and you will have bought a heckuva speaker for a great price! they will deliver extra bass the room ...
Sub $1K Floorstanders for NAD C320BEE
i have heard paradigms on nad amps and they are a great match for that type of music.
recommendation for best $1500 speakers?
sat-sub idea is good if you do not already own a sub. if you are into home theatre you should have one tho.... otherwise may i suggest the meadowlark kestrals. co. is defunct but i believe there is an old pair of brand new 'hot rod' kestrals for s...
Review: Meadowlark Audio kestrel 2 Speaker
Replaced 170WPC NAD int amp with modified jolida int. tube amp (60 WPC) first foray into tubes, but i cannot imagine going back to ss amp with the kestrals sounding the way they do now. having listened to both types of power extensively i would en...
Jolida and Seas Odin / Tyler Linbrook Sig Monitors
i am using a modified jolida 502 with meadowlark kestral 2 speakers. granted meadowlark is defunct but product is still available.. even new in box at great prices of course. sound is marvelous and time/phase correct. 89 db rated. gorgeous cabinet...
which nad amp sholuld I get?
c-372. actually it puts out 170 wpc according to my manual. having owned mid priced b&w's and different nad amps i suggest it is the speaker that is getting befuddled with the heavy demands. with a room that size if you can't get driven out wi...
Is my setup mid-fi or hi-fi?
your system is 'mid hi-fi', 7.575 to be precise. i have a mathematical equation, top secret, that i use to calculate systems. re. cdp, the quality of the recordings will annihilate most subtle differences between cdp's anyway. i have been so impre...
Newbie looking for system suggestions
advice from mdhoover is great. some just want great sound, buy and stop searching around, others enjoy the hobby, eqpmnt. searching aspect. you are not sure where you fit in untill you jump in. finding a trusted audiophile you share an ear with is...
