Micromega M-100/150 field reports
"...anybody using the M-One as UPnP device without problems?"After some early poor reliability, which a couple firmware reinstalls & reboots seemed to fix, my M-100 has been very reliable on the network as a UPnP renderer. I use the Micromega ...
Micromega M-100/150 field reports
I have an M-100 but without the so-called M.A.R.S. room EQ kit (unlocked firmware + mic). You can read about M-One features from here: https://micromega.com/en/products/mone-range/. I’m not aware of any "user EQ".ps: expensive ’audiophile' routers...
Recommendations on a big 3 way bookshelf - new or vintage - speakers, have stands 17" high
No answer from OP on budget but they asked about "SONY M3s", of which there is no such speaker from Sony. There is (was) a Sony SS-M3, a weirdo standmount from 2005. That would fit the OP’s vintage part of "new or vintage" but not the 3-way require...

stand-mount speakers for classical music
@jackd - thanks, saw those earlier.  For my spec the BMR's seem hard to beat: true 3-way, driver quality, exceptional midrange, designed by classical musician etc.

Streaming: WiFi or wired??
Anyone believing they're getting "better" or "clearer" SQ from wired vs wireless ethernet (or vice versa) has fallen into one of those confirmation bias traps we humans are prone to falling into.Empirically and physically THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE in...
REL R328 & R305 -- are these two REL subwoofers close enough as a match?
@hilde I don’t think 10 years is too old. Assuming you’ve confirmed the 305 wasn’t used as pet/toddler trampoline the specs are so close to the 328 (sans radiator) that it seems low risk for mismatch effects. Certainly less than pairing a 328 and ...
REL R328 & R305 -- are these two REL subwoofers close enough as a match?
Close enough, go for it.fwiw below is correspondence I had with John Hunter on matching a 328 with a S/3, which are way different than your 328/305 pairing. I’m guessing you wouldn't need to go to those extremes (eg wire each sub mono to each chan...

verdant said: ...make me want to take an ice pick to my ears...thanks Verdant for the helpful post esp. with you demo’ing a M-150. Note I have a M-100 (less 50w power and no room correction). What specifically are you hearing for the M-150 sound p...

"...the SM20 is now available in the states..."Thanks affordable - do you mean the hifi version of the SM20 is available in the US? (passive and hifi veneer instead of studio cabinet)? I checked some of the retail websites from Lone Mountain Audio...
Looking for an integrated amp around 4000 to 5000.
This, with the "celebrated 'Velvet Sound'" Asahi Kasei AK4490 DAC circuit:https://tmraudio.com/components/integrated-amplifiers/micromega-m-one-m-150-stereo-integrated-amplif...(I own the M-100 - same DAC but 100w amp and no room correction)

@bobedwards based on your mention I looked into ProAc Studio SM100. Not unlike some of ATC’s studio monitors. Some of the head-to-heads favored ATC but may have been individual preferences. Cabinet finish is studio so not optimal for my main room....

@E yup I should. Do you happen to know any owners of a sealed Fritz speaker?@shkong while Vaugn Cab is impressive in spec & appearance, it’s a floorstander. I must have standmount (WAF, bad cats etc).@ebm I haven’t seen Joseph Audio stand-moun...

@edcyn - if you've owned the Boxers several years I'm guessing v1 like mine (2013), maybe v2?  I continue to have similar listening experience to yours - even less-snuff recordings are still pretty amazing. My Boxers are going nowhere: they'll move...
