Turntable Pre-Echo Sound....?
The post-echo and pre-echo occur mostly with loud passages succeeding or preceding quiet ones. When adjacent grooves are about equally modulated, the echo is masked. When levels are moderate, the effect does not occur. Also, good mastering reduces...
Turntable Pre-Echo Sound....?

Turntable Pre-Echo Sound....?
It's in the record grooves, called "pre-echo". Sometimes it's in the tape as well, due to print-through (in analogue tapes). When a record is cut today, the grooves's pitch is controlled by a computer, which is supposed to space teh grooves far en...

Due to thermal cycling and mechanical flexing, some components may change slightly. I would not lose any sleep over this.

"But you are right about tape wear, and eaten tapes, not to mention stray magnetic fields. Pre-recorded cassette tapes are quite inferior to mini-discs, but home recorded cassettes on a good machine will blow away a mini-disc." Nope. Minidisc wil...
What equipment do you most regret parting with??
Although we all have sold stuff we once owned and maybe still would like to have, we all got rid of it for a reason: something better came along. I bought Yamaha NS-690 speakers and loved them for a while, but then I heard the Rogers Studio 1s.......
What equipment do you most regret parting with??
None. Everything I have now is better than anything I had in the past, or else I wouldn't have it. Though if I were still interested in LPs, I did rather like the Ortofon MC-20 and MCA-76 pre-preamp, and even better, the Stax cartridge.

Minidic, man, minidisc. Cassettes are quite inferior.

Whether the Beatles attended the stereo mixing is irrelevant. George Martin (the ("Fifth Beatle") handled such things. I was alive at the time, and I remember the excitement about the stereo effects on the album. Were you?
Headphone Amp Recommendation
Head-fi is full of 20-somethings who like bass so loud it crushes their brains.
Headphone Amp Recommendation
I'm not sure I understand your question. If serious headphone listening is your quest, you'll want to look at Stax electrostatics, which have their own amplifiers. Hardly any dynamic headphone comes close. Putting an amp on even an expensive dynam...
