Linns can sound great if set up properly.  I would look into setup and getting that set up jig if you are serious.

Could be.  just make sure you are ready to deal with tuning it every time the wind changes direction. 
AT-ART9 cartridge on Marantz TT-15s1 - I don't think I'm getting the performance I should
some cartridges just do not track as well as others IME.  I am not sure about the ART 9.Try leveling the table.  A level table can make a big difference.
