Large Audio Libraries I've been using the Escient Fireball-120 system together with a Sony 400 disc carousel. It's a stand alone hard drive with 120 Gigs. You can use three daisy changed carousels slaved to the main unit, burn directly to the HD itself or a combination...
granite audio ground zero One of the best purchases I've ever made. I always thought I just had component compatibility problems or bad cables and kept selling everything. Once I installed the ground zero, the hum disappeared and my system sounded so much better all the wa...
Surround Speaker cabling question For left and right front channels, using excellent quality cabling, would you hear a difference between 1.5m for one side and 5m for the other? Opinions?
van nuys californa Well Marv, I'd be pleased to be your second member. I live in North Hollywood and can't be bothered with the traffic involved in getting to L.A. or Orange County society! I may know others too. Please email me and we can talk about it.
Ground loop, cheater plugs, power cords, many ques Check out Granite Audio's Ground Zero product. It took me 20 minutes to set this little black box up in my system and immediately eliminated the ground loop problem I had been struggling with for months. It's amazing and absolutely works!

Talon speakers and Spectron amps? I'd recommend the Goldmund Stellavox PW-1 monoblocks, 200wpc. Or perhaps the Sim W-5 stereo or W-6 monoblocks. I've not known the Pass amps to be a good match for Talon. (IMHO). Not familiar with the Spectron.
Underwood Mod to Denon 5900 My video comparison is slightly jaded in that my reference has always been the Camelot Roundtable MKII which retails for $5k. Its video performance is hard to beat and often wins shootouts. However, the redbook on the Camelot is greatly lacking IM...
Underwood Mod to Denon 5900 Yes, I have it and am really impressed. IMO, It easily competes with any player in its price range. In particular, the redbook performance is astonishing. I find the bass extension and low end to be better than most players. The dynamics and sound...

Best DAC with Volume Control? Goldmund 21+. Best DAC I've owned to date.
Amp Suggestion for Talon "Khite" Monitors Sim Audio amps have amazing synergy with the Talon speakers. I would suggest the W-5 two channel which can be bought at extremely reasonable prices here at Audiogon.
Patricia Barber at the Green Mill in Chicago Jc- Interestingly enough, I went to the Green Mill with an extremely talented professional musician friend and her Mother (who is in her 70's). My friend agreed that it was one of the best live performances she had seen in a long time and that the... |
