Affordable cables
"....If I were in the market for a new set of cables, I'd look into some of the smaller, cottage industry types who don't have the market exposure and need to factor all of those ads into their pricing."Nonoise,That's exactly what I did when I nee...
Eh hem!...Subwoofers... What do ya know?
richmos,I had Duetta Signatures some years ago and they were really something special. They were very current-hungry and I ended up buying a Krell amp to feed them. They also liked lots of space behind them, but the sound was unmatched.
Eh hem!...Subwoofers... What do ya know?
"It really is easy, go big or go home!....  I recently eliminated my sub for my two channel setup. My room constraints wound up creating more problems than I could/want to try to "fix" so I binned it"geof3,I guess going big didn't quite work out.
Can two subwoofers reduce a bass problem?
"....I'm looking at the REL T5i (and T Zero) because I think their high level input is the best way for me to connect the sub to an amp."simna,The High Level (Speaker) input is REL's preferred way of connecting their subwoofers and is the route I ...
Mmmm Crow tastes good...
"REL suggests that when positioning a sub, you are to start with putting the sub in your listening position and then move yourself around the room until the sub sounds "right" to you."perkri,The Owner's Manual on my REL T/5i sub states the followi...
The order of getting more/better bass
The TAS article by Robert Harley is a worthwhile read.... http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/a-guide-to-better-bass-tas-197-1/
Pass Labs and Fuses
"That this site is the only place where so much time and effort is put into discussing how fuses sound (mostly by the same handful of people) says a lot...."I wonder how many are associated/affiliated with SR?
Pass Labs and Fuses
"How is it that one way it sounds better than the other-way??...."georgehifi,I agree with you that fuse direction loses all meaning in an alternating current (AC) application.
interconnects vs speaker cables vs power cords - which make the biggest difference?
The "pecking" order for my small 2-channel system is....1. Speaker Cables2. Interconnects3. Power CablesIf I had a large power-hungry amp, power cables might prove to be more important but my Bryston Integrated Amp doesn't seem to care what I feed...
dissapointed - new LS50w's vs old PioneerFS52's/Luxman R113 - so far Kef's not so great?
I've owned KEF LS50s for several years and found that they are quite sensitive to the equipment they're partnered with. Impedance drops below 4 ohms at low frequencies and you need an amp with good current capability to hear them at their best. If...
Double run of speaker cables?
I have run "shotgunned" biwire cable configurations before when the biwire was not of sufficient gauge but  I eventually replaced them with a larger gauge biwire cable. By all means try it and go with whichever way sounds best.
KEF-LS50 with REL T-Zero? Anyone?

question about bi-wired speaker termination
There is a relevant discussion on biwiring vs "shotgunning" (biwiring with jumpers at speaker end) that may be of interest....https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/night-and-day-speaker-connection
The Truth About Power Cords and there "Real" Price to Performance
mikepowellaudio,Making a power cable that is able to degrade sound does not prove that an audiophile-grade power cable will improve sound compared to a generic one of equal gauge. The only thing you proved is that you know how to make a bad power ...
The Truth About Power Cords and there "Real" Price to Performance
"....What it does not address is differential voltages between equipment locally, usually most influenced by grounds, though ground line interaction is possible. Do you need $20K of power cords to solve this? No, $100 of copper strapping betwee...
