What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
my impressions mirror yours Mapman.
What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
I'm sure it is Brownsfan. As a matter of interest Charles and Brownsfan this past Saturday I attended an audio meeting where one of the members told me of another fellow audiophile that purchased a pair of Lamm ML 2.2 SETs to replace his Franks. H...
What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
I did read the review Charles. Very insightful and through as is the review of the ML 518i. I sensed much the same in Brownsfan's and Mikirob's impressions as well. It makes me want to purchase the amp just to HEAR it particularly at that price. I...
What's the greatest bargain in SET these days?
Charles the only reason I brought up the Magenetic Line, as an example, was power. 8 watts with the Decapo is a big gamble regardless of how great those 8 watts are for the money. It seemed Rebbi had made up his mind to sell his amps and buy eithe...

Thanks for clarifying Brownsfan, my comment about your selling off the Dynamo was meant tongue in cheek.

"But I feel pretty confident at this point that either the Decware or the Coincident will be a step up from my Manley gear."Rebbi I don't mean to rain on your parade but if you CAN'T because of finances, listen first you are gambling. I'm sure the...
AudiogoN Inception Date?
Jmmcgrogan, you're just being too paranoid, what's wrong with you! Getting our credit cards on file is somehow a "benefit" for users or has that facade finally faded? I certainly would hate to see agon getting shortchanged on their cut, I get that...
Most overrated audio manufacturers?
Agree totally zd. To be quite frank I've heard different Vandy set-ups range from abysmal (who would ever consider them) to sublime, they can be real chameleons. Set-up and room conditions are critical. They continue to be big sellers for a reason...
Who believes that Robert Plant
Kjweisner mentions Freddy Mercury, did the OP forget him, how can you? I love Plant and he is right up there among the most unique, at least in his heyday, but so far as Freddie is concerned, my guess is the OP forgot him or maybe Queen isn't to h...
I would love some suggestions on great acoustic...
Mapman your mention of Doc Watson reminds me of that great country bluegrass album "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" featuring the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and a cast of country blue grass legends including Doc, Vassar Clements, Roy Acuff, Earl Scruggs ...
High End Tube Gear Transition to High End SS
See Ps, all you REALLY needed was a bit of encouragement to talk yourself out of it, good decision and continue to enjoy with your wife!
Your most disappointing purchase or audition?
See what I mean about the passage of time and details Roxy? We ALL must have missed it in the deleted posts :)
For organ afficianados
Gosh I probably heard her as a kid. It was always a treat, going to all those great Department stores on Market St. during the Christmas season with my Mom. I certainly remember that organ playing from those days, it was MOST impressive.
The future of Hi-Rez is groovy
LONG LIVE GROOVY! Working on a groovy thing Marilyn and the rest of the Fifth, I just got back 45 years, thanks for the memory Mr. Hope, groovy springs eternal, I feel like a kid again!
Your most disappointing purchase or audition?
Roxy I agree however there gets to a point when it becomes an excercise in futility for the reader trying to determine all the FACTS, we'll never know. The truth lays in conviction. It seems both parties are being truthful. It is the reason I aske...
