Mcintosh MVP 831 as CD player/reliability...
One more question, should I consider an outboard DAC with it for more up to date sound processing? Have any of you done that on this machine or others of the same type? Thanks...Brian.
McIntosh MA 6500 reliability etc....
Hi Folks,Mine is having no trouble feeding the Maggies. They never sounded better actually. Deepest stage and dynamics I've yet heard. Imaging is great too. I can understand the differences with the 6900 however. It's neat to read all of your obse...
McIntosh MA 6500 reliability etc....
Thanks again for your support Guys. Do you leave yours powered up all the time, or should I shut it down when not in use? I have one and LOVE it. Bought from authorized dealer locally.

Cardas Golden Cross Power Cord...
Excellent! Thanks for the input so far folks! Can you tell me more about what each does for a system's sound compared to other brands? Is there a bigger soundstage, more lifelike tonality etc? Thanks for any sonic benefit or lack thereof in your o...
Quad 909
I have Quad's 12 L2 monitor speakers. So there may be wonderful synergy here that I'm experiencing. However I've heard them on various Paradigm speakers, and it powers those magically too.

I think it's the best SS amp I've ever owned! It's the most natural and lifelike. No reliability problems at all. It's one beautiful sounding amp. Mate it with a good pre amp and I think you wont be dissapointed.Power amps owned...Bryston 4B ST, A...

Totem Rainmaker distortion??
Well Folks, thanks for your help. I decided to retire the rainmakers as I found out it was a piece of solder on the wiring inside the cabinet creating the noise. Feeling less than confident about their manufacturing, I have returned them to my dea...
Totem Rainmaker distortion??
Thanks to all of you for your helpful suggestions! I bought them from Mike Wall...(supposedly a dealer) here on Audiogon.) They were brand new "factory sealed." I'm in hopes he will take care of me. I've never encountered this from speakers before...
Thoughts on the Audio Research 150.2
I've owned one for about a year and a half. I love it. I will say in all honesty however, I feel it is just beginning after all this time to "burn in"/"settle in" to its sound after a year and a half powered every day... 24/7. At this point I've f...
Anyone listen to Audio Research 150M / 150.2 amp??
I now own a 150.2 after giving up a much beloved Bryston 4B ST. No comparison in soundstage and sweetness, the Audio Research walks on it with no loss of detail, yet no listener fatigue either. The Bryston could be a shade etched at higher volumes...
Audio Research 150.2 Class T Digital Amp
I'd like to hear more feedback on this amp if anyone has any. I just bought one and want to know what to expect as far as burn in time etc. Are Audio Research solid state amps pretty reliable overall? Thanks.
Help Cables
Hi Dan,The absolute best I've encountered are Cardas cables. In your price range I'd look into the Quadlink 5C interconnect and speaker cable. These are warm sounding, smoothing digital harshness/grain, but never lose an ounce of detail. The sound...
