Battle of the affordables
Klipsch Heritage
Encouraging people to consider a traditional 2 channel stereo system.
Make a lot of money, get old, and seek contentment in the music…
How close are you to being to your endgame? My system outline and I'm almost there.
Nice gear, enjoy the music! With me, just because I have a dream car, doesn’t mean I don’t have a dream car 😂
Seeking horn array loudspeakers with a maximum price of $17,500.00 per pair.
Volti & JBL good recommendations.  But see if you can have a pair of Klipschhorns auditioned in your home. Spooky 3D soundstage.
Looking for a more up-to-date streamer
At the risk of blasphemy, consider a fanless mini PC, mine’s a mele @$350, add a Denafrips IRIS @$500 via USB, then I2S to your Pontus 15th and run Qobuz Connect.  I have this set up with an IRIS and Pontus 12th feeding McIntosh tube amp to a pair...
the gateway product that turned you into an audiophile
My father’s HH Scott 222 integrated amp, a Garrad turntable and a pair of 15 inch full range drivers of unknown origin listening to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass in the 8th grade. The local hifi shop had a pair of Klipschhorns that were so spo...

@jcipale if you’ll just be streaming internet radio, WiiM pro a good choice. Check ebay, there may be some good secondary market options for less than retail. Enjoy the music!

+1 recommendations above.  I have a WiiM mini, WiiM Pro, Node2i w LHY LPS, and a CXN-V2 in second, third, and fourth systems.   Two additional considerations, 1) will you use an external DAC? If not, and go WiiM route, go with Pro Plus, best DAC ...
What does your DAC sound like
+1 R2R topology +1 Denafrips products. I have several deltasigma DACs in lower systems that measure “world class” but pretty much sound the same, except for the most expensive best measuring model, all crisp, clean, clear, transparent, neutral, li...
Cayin, Line Magnetic, and Willsenton with 805 Feedback
I’ve owned a Willsenton R800i 845 for over two years now.  I upgraded all the tubes w fancy NOS in preamp section and better new issue tubes in 300b and 845.  It sounds fantastic driving Klipsch Forte IIIs, Heresy IIs, and  Focal Aria 926, all hig...
Tubes for VTL MB-450 Series II
+1 email VTL to confirm but 6550 and KT-88 have “similar” bias requirements.  The Series III can run either per website. Beast of an amp, btw.  If KT-88 equivalent, consider looking at Shuguang Nature KT-88-T (not -Z). I have a Dennis Had Inspire...
Any thoughts about the RR-888
I stumbled across this thread a few days ago, did a bunch of internet reading guided by AI and thought what the heck, bought the $55 Douk Audio wood box version vs the $$$ audiophile unit.  It arrived today, plugged it in, 5 feet high just slightl...
Sound signature comparison - Streamer/DACs
Keep the LUMIN D2!  I have a Cambridge Audio CXN V2 with dual Wolfson chips and love the warm, musical and dare say relaxed sound signature. Still plenty of detail and clarity.  The D2 is much higher end and I would imagine far better implementati...
CARY CAD 805 SIGNATURE
There’s a pair of Cary Audio 805s on USAudio Mart for $4,800, retail was $9,000; a pair of 211 monos for $8,000, retail $24,000, they’re monsters; a Cary 845SEI Integrated on ebay @ $4,350, and a pair of Cary CAD 300SE Signatures for $2,900. So ye...
Qobuz Connect Launched Yesterday
Thanks for the post! I connected iPad app and PC desktop app last night. Way smoother than any other remote app. Now if Qobuz would update firmware so JPLY FEMTO driver would sync up.
