Tannoy Stirlings on the way!
I would imagine you do!  Someday maybe I'll have space for something on that scale.  I still plan to look into getting some stands made for mine.  That would be my only complaint, I guess.  I'm not sure what they were thinking with the vertical tw...
REL T/9i or S5
I have a pair of T9i's that I use with my Tannoy Stirlings in a room a little bigger than yours.  I can't speak to the S line, as I never got the opportunity to hear them.  I'm sure they're wonderful.  But I find the T9i a *highly* musical sub.  V...

Still just really digging these things.  I think that low crossover point to the tweeter really works for them.  Everything is so coherent.  Vocals -- especially female and most especially choral -- really sing through them.  The detail is excelle...
Townes Van Zandt
@brownsfan , I recommend Rearview Mirror.  It was the first Townes I ever heard.  I was in a music store in Iowa City, and they had it playing on the PA. I went over to the guy and said, "What is this??"   He grinned and said, "I know, isn't it gr...
Rel vs the world
Don't let anyone tell you that manual integration is a easy peasy thing to do and the RELs do it just so seamlessly. It is simply not true Maybe it didn't work that way for you, in your room, with your system.  It did for me.The Rythmiks might ...
Rel vs the world
I can't even tell they are in the room until I listen with them turned off. This has been my experience, as well.  The bass is just there.  It doesn't stand out.  You don't notice the subs.  You just have good bass, which you notice immediately...

Thanks, @lalitk !  I'll look into that.
Fyne Speakers now in the USA
It sounds like they are, indeed, off the Tannoy family tree, even including the treble energy adjustment.

I think it's safe to say they're fully broken in, at this point.  I still have the tweeter set to flat, and I've decided I like them best with the grills on.  I've been experimenting with toe-in. Those of you who said to pay attention to what's...
Old vs New, an experience with Dynaudio.
I don't know the 60s, but my desktop setup is a pair of LYD48s (studio monitors), and I've been extremely happy with their sound, so Dynaudio still seems perfectly capable of making good speakers.  Maybe if I heard your 3.3s I'd feel different, bu...

Nice.  I ordered some of the Impressions panels.

I found something that fixes my subs, but I'm not sure why.  Still puzzling over that one, but, in any case, the bass is back to more of what I'm used to.  Need to do some tuning for the Stirlings' greater output in those frequencies.  I may push ...

Happy and excited for you. New gear setup can be an awesome experience. Thanks, @ovinewar !  Yes, it can be.  Rediscovering music you've heard many times is a big part of the fun.Wish I could figure out the REL issue, though.  Their customer su...

Still getting acquainted.  I've moved them a couple of feet farther apart than I had my Lintons.  It's less convenient from a living space perspective, but I wanted to see how big a soundstage I could get in my room.  Still fiddling with it, but t...
Tannoy Stirlings on the way!
After letting them play in the next room all day and evening, I sat down late last night to do a little listening.  The sharpness in the treble is gone, hallelujah.  Still puzzling over why the subs stopped working.  I've reached out to REL, and t...
