good match for Atma-Sphere M60 Well, since Adam (Banksfriend) bought the M60s from me, and Spencer pointed out that we did a pretty long audition with the Coincident Digital Master and Fried C/4 satellites, I figure I should also throw my two cents in.First of all, Hyperion has...
Tube integrated amp less than 12" in depth? Interesting! To be quite honest, I never cottoned to the Jolida 502B, for exactly the reasons you listed, Sprinkbok10. I always felt the 202/302 amps were much better sounding. The 801 seems to correct what the 502 does wrong, but still has a touch...
Tube integrated amp less than 12" in depth? I can appreciate how Swampwalker feels. Getting a DOA high end audio piece, no matter who the manufacturer is will sour anyone. I personally experienced a somewhat similar situation with three Cambridge D500SE CD players I went through. Needless t...
Tube integrated amp less than 12" in depth? I apologize for not getting back to you quickly, Springbok10. Yes, the Jadis Orchestra Reference (including the binding posts and knobs) will meet your 12" deep requirement, with an inch or so to spare. Although there are none for sale here on Aud...
Making a Difference Excellent thread, Jeff! Thank you very much. People like you make this world a better place, we are lucky to have you as a member of this site!
Can Someone Help the Idiot Out? Excellent advice, Violaguy!
Tube integrated amp less than 12" in depth? You can go with a Jadis Orchestra or Orchestra Reference (JOR), Springbok10. Although they are not deep at all, they are a bit wider than most equipment. I am not sure if that is a problem or not... If you are very interested, I can measure the ex...
SS Amp for Triangle Speakers I think most here didn't notice Sean's tongue in cheek recommendation of speaking to the outside world's expert on Triangle speaker - Sam Tellig. Knowing the history between the two (can't call Sam a gentleman), I found it hilarious! The only thing...
Stereophile review of the McCormack UDP-1 I have heard recently that McCormack gear was actually made in Korea. Is this true?
Help me decide b/w a Stealth XXX or a BPT 2.5 Anyone else besides Sammie have experience with both the AM and the BPT?I am seriously considering the purchase of a BPT, as it will one of the final pieces in the puzzle, but now that I see this thread, I am wondering about this AM. Though, I als...
Help me decide b/w a Stealth XXX or a BPT 2.5 That's a pretty strong statement, Sammie. Can you please elaborate? How does the AM "smoke" the BPT, in what areas? I am not refuting what you are saying, but have been considering the purchase of this type of device (BPT, Shunyata Hydra, etc.), a...
Anybody blow a ceramic woofer with an OTL amp? Not to be a wiseguy, Honest1, but if you read the next sentence, "Then, the whole thing repeats.", you will find the answer to your question...
Anybody blow a ceramic woofer with an OTL amp? I'm also sorry to hear this news, Spingbok10.I have had 6AS7G and 12SX7 tubes go bad on me. The 6AS7 continually builds up blue gas inside until they pop (and REALLY violently), which relieves the pressure. Then, the whole thing repeats. The fuse ...
What tubes would you suggest for the following.... KT88 tubes branded VAC have been Teslovak (Tesla). This tube is now JJ KT88. And, I agree, the sound is terrific. I think they are the best of the current KT88 tubes. Others like Svetlana or EH, I guess it depends on your preferences.
Walker Audio Extreme SST Listener57, you are very wise to bring up Saran Wrap. However, please note that Saran Wrap is a truly special product (polyvinylidene chloride - PVDC), and should never be confused with the typical polyethylene plastic wraps that you find in the s... |
