Open baffle speakers
Is it really that simple? Why so many people in the dark, when here all along we just needed a pair Lii drivers.
Anyone else excited for this Borresen subwoofer?!!!
Those Rythmik drivers are pretty well built, better than a lot of pro sound drivers. I can’t see the idea the servo is just making up for cheap or inadequate drivers. Mine get plenty loud enough. I’m not looking to ruin my hearing, so plenty adequ...
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
I thought the OP was interested in a good option that’s available to buy, not a DIY approach thats out of reach to most everyone? It's interesting to read about the possibilities with DIY though, but to imply any other way is lacking enough not to...
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
The Rythmik amps have high level inputs too. In addition to the crossover adjustments it’s more flexible with continuous 0-180 phase control, damping and extension adjustments, a PEQ to tame the rooms main room mode.  It’s recommended to use the ...
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
Another vote for Rythmik. I have a pair of GR Research double trouble subs I like very well. I Owned REL a while back, the model with carbon drivers the same as their TOTL back then, can’t remember the model name. I liked the REL, but to my ears t...
Emerald Physics Loudspeakers
I own a pair of EP 4.7. They are very enjoyable and I think the last pair of speakers I’ll ever buy. If you are willing to learn how to measure room response and use room correction software like REW. Learn how to use and adjust a DSP unit like th...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Nandric go play a record or something your nitpicking gets old.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi Raul, I only have a few hours listening time with the 2000z. So I can’t say a whole lot about it other than it’s a fine performer but at this point couldn’t say if it’s as good as the 4000DIII. Also, I bought an Empire edr .9 copy from turntabl...
Tekton tweeter design
I noticed “problems” with the vertical dispersion of this tweeter array. The highs seemed to change a lot with small changes in listening position height. No big deal I guess, just something I noticed with the impact monitors I owned.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Raul, I’m very impressed with the AT-1100 tonearm, glad you recommended it. Precision quality and impressive engineering. I purchased a spare straight arm pipe and also an S shaped arm pipe with the W-3 heavy counterweight. It’s in the same league...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Raul, my 2000Z with original packaging came with a plastic piece to slide over the clip for exact centering. I’ve seen 4000d models with the extra part also. I might try it when I mount the 2000z to the AT 1100. Frogman, Your system and personal p...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
The Gold version uses a black solid metal mount vs the clip style mount. The original 4000D models use a thinner plain tapered aluminum cantilever and I believe the earliest versions were true nude diamonds. The model number is marked on the botto...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
The Empire 4000DIII was always one of my favorites. The lesser performance Gold model was my first experience. The oldest originals are better, if you can find a good one. Original styli are almost impossible to find, so that’s a bummer.
Technics turntable inquiry about SL 1200 MK ll for DJ or home use?
They made 1200 GAE versions. I guess there’s a few people trying to resell them for a huge profit. Sorta like the discontinued OPPO UDP-205 4K player.
Technics turntable inquiry about SL 1200 MK ll for DJ or home use?
Anybody that pays $9000.00 for the GAE version is getting robbed. It’s Basically the same thing as the G version in performance, but slightly more fancy limited edition. I owned the GAE version when it cost less than $5000.00. Resold it because it...
