Alejandro Escovedo Live at Mc Cabe's
Saw him in Chicago last Fall, one of the best shows I've seen in a while. If anyone gets the chance to see him, don't miss it.
who needs a cd player anymore
I have over 1300 CD's and enjoy looking through them to see what I can find, the fact that they are all in alphabetical order makes them very easy to find. I'm using an HK 7600 for transport through a PS audio DLIII into a Musical Fidelity tube st...

Analog vs. digital segment on PBS
Albertporter, first let me say to your friend that is working with the JVC XRCDproject, that those CD's too me are some of the finest CD's made that will play in a standard CD player. I've said before that if all CD's were produced with such care ...

Are Sub-woofers really for music?
I use a sub with a pair of NHT 1.5's. The sub I use is the NHT SW2P which has its own external mono amp. This sub matches well with these speakers. The problem with alot of people is they have no concept of balance when using a sub I.E usually to l...
Patricia Barber at the Green Mill in Chicago
When in Chicago you have to visit the Green Mill. They get some great acts, and if you get there early you can get within 15 feet of the stage. The interior hasn't changed since the 40's and the vibe is cool. This is a real gem of a club!!!
do, mfsl, dcc or gold cds really sound better?
If you haven't had the chance to check out the saving grace to the CD format, check out the JVC XRCD's. Although the others sound good these are a cut above in quality, and quality control. They will also play in a standard CDP.
Perfect Pitch?
I second that, just about everything has pitch problems. How could you enjoy anything?
Who are the Jazz Cats on Audiogon?
Nothing like some great Jazz sounds, to set the mood.
XRCDs WOW
XRCD's are the savior for CD's,they are some of the best and most musical sounding examples of what CD's souuld have been all along. They are a little expensive but well worth it, I own about 15 and enjoy every one of them.
How to respond to those who say it's not a hobby?
To me this is not a hobby, it's what I do for a living. I am an audio engineer. I usually try to include my better half by talking it over with her,and seeing what she has too say when I want to upgrade. Then I do what I want. We have a system, th...
