I2S Recommendation
I wired my theater system with Pixelgen cables and it made a noticeable difference in the display, although I didn't notice much in the way of audio improvement.   https://www.pixelgendesign.com/ca/thxinterconnect/shortrange
Need Ideas on speaker cables
Buy some bulk Canare 4S11 cable and terminate how you wish, or buy pre-made from WBC.  Your money will be better spent in other areas, like room treatment or calibration, IMO.  4S11 has some science behind it as far as noise rejection, and has ver...
What does your DAC sound like
We have to keep in mind that the A in DAC stands for Analog, so in order for a DAC to sound great, both the conversion and Analog output stage must be good.  I like Benchmark products which have an astounding SN ratio, and some features found on v...
Bi amping with two different pairs of monoblocks
I use the MiniDSP SHD as an active crossover, feeding two powered subs and a Benchmark AHB2 amp for the ATC SCM7's.  Digital is pass through to a Benchmark DAC3.
Experience with stacked subwoofers?

Experience with stacked subwoofers?
I'm with Brsd on this topic as it's settled science going back to work done back in the early half of the last century at Bell Labs. Very common in PA application,  not as common in 2 channel home applications.    BTW Brad, I picked up some used...
Electronic cross-over on pre-amp out, to split signal to subwoofer and bookshelf speakers
I'm using a MiniDSP SHD as an electronic crossover and also using DIRAC.  Digital signals pass through to my Benchmark DAC3, and the sub signals go direct to my powered subs.  I come from the pro audio world, so using electronic crossovers/DSP is ...
Thoughts on using the DAC in my oppo 205 with a CD Transport.
I think the engineering behind Benchmark products is solid, for example the extra 3db of digital headroom.  I've had Parasound, ProJect and now Benchmark with a noticeable upgrade in sound with each product over the old.     https://benchmarkmed...
Speakers for 2nd System!
I am using ATC SCM7's in my similar sized office, with 2 10" subs in a 2.2 configuration.   In this same room I've had Jamo, ELAC, Klipsch and KEF, and the ATC's are just so much more balanced.
Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too?
Back on topic.
Bryston BDA-3 / Benchmark DAC3B
I have a DAC3 and I can tell you it's dead quiet and has some technologies that very few other DAC's have, like +3db of digital headroom.  Read some of John Siau's blogs on the Benchmark site.  Check out the specs as well like .00022%THD, and 128d...
Is it possible to find a good DAC for under $50, 000?
Still a Benchmark fan here.  John Siau can back up the stats with science, and there's no BS in their marketing...and made in the USA.
DAC recommendation for DSD input
I've had Parsound, Pro-Ject and have settled on Benchmark DAC3.  The DAC3 has some unique technology, an astounding SN ratio, and just sounds right. "In most D/A conversion systems, intersample peaks cause overloading of the upsampling interpolat...
Do you agree with John Atkinson (and me)?
Free will man, nobody should tell you how many records or what type you should have.   I've accumulated my library for me, and not anyone else, if you dig it fine, if you think my taste in music stinks then that's just like your opinion man.
Cary SLP 98 vs Benchmark LA4
Yeah, John Siau is one of the true genius designers in the industry and can back up his claims with facts, not voodoo.
