Don't Think I'll Buy This...
Zargon - Please see the last paragraph of my intitial post. I'll bet very few of the irritating ads and e-mail responses are from non-English speaking A'goners.Trelja - What is the user name of your friend? I'll keep an eye out for his stuff.Bikin...

Ejlif - Are saying I failed to include the subject? Guess I got a little casual in thought and presumed people would know I was talking about myself.
Don't Think I'll Buy This...
I have to admit that when I see something from someone that looks disorgainzed or without much thought, I wonder if the product has been treated the same way. Once dealt with someone who did not even care to use proper sentence structure, punctuat...
Linn Components
Newmanoc - Just wish they carried at least one tube line. But, man, do those new Viennas look good. Same with SF Domus. Great bunch of people there including some true music lovers. By the way, did you ever visit the old Accutronics over on State ...
Linn Components
Well, you asked for it...so here goes. I have been visiting a Linn dealer in Ann Arbor for about 17-18 years and they pretty much carry all of Linn's offerings. That is, from the $1,500.00 "all in one" box to the $20,000.00 amps and CD player. I'v...
Sonus Faber CONCERTINO vs. Quad 11L?
I have to admit Goatwuss (what kind of name is that?)is right. As one who likes a warmer, weightier sound I like the SFs but his description of the Quads are what I heard in a 30 min audition. They are, in my opinion, on the slightly lean and slig...
Plinius SB 300 v Plinius SA 250 MK IV
I had cary 2A3s 5-6 years ago but could not find a speaker that worked. The Cain & Cains were not available then. I found the Air Tight had enough oopmh for many more speakers. I also had Cary 572s which were really good sounding but those dam...
Plinius SB 300 v Plinius SA 250 MK IV
I have been a tube amp guy since 1986 and bought Harbeths a few months ago. They need more current than my Air Tight 300B can give so I bought an SA-50III. Maybe it's the Harbeths but I didn't know S/S could sound so good. Then again, maybe it's t...
Stands for harbeth superHL5
Chris,I have year old C7s and used the recommendation of Alan Shaw from Harbeth. I called Skylan in Canada (you can get to their website by going to A'gon's manuf. section) and found the owner Noel more than helpful. He specializes in Harbeth and ...
Which musician retired too soon?
Yeah, we're pretty sure Frank's dead.
Spendor SP 2/3 Amplifier Load
Quciksilver makes a very nice 50 watter called the Mid Mono. This would easily be enough power for the 2/3s.
Sonus Faber Concerto & Concertino
Damn, I've got Golden Reference interconnects and TG Audio speaker wires. The Gold Ref have always sounded the most neutral of any cables I've owned. There is a Sonus Faber dealer nearby and he has Cremona Auditors in stcok. I'll go check them out.
i want better sounding speakers
As a graduate of U of M I think you're going to end up with a new amp/pre-amp. Michigan ain't looking too good this year. And how the hell does the alumni association find me every time I move? I graduated in 1976 and haven't given a penny since. ...
Sonus Faber Concerto & Concertino
Kops, I'm not sure of what you are saying. The combination of Cardas (which line of Cardas was it?) and Cremonas was bad sounding? Or was it good? By the way, how easy are the Cremonas to drive? I have to agree there may be some prejudice against ...
i want better sounding speakers
I was just kinda, um, saying that, uh, you know...hmmm.I heard a guy on T.V. a couple weeks ago say, "Well, you've got about 50% of the people thinking one way and 50% the other. Then everybody else is somewhere in the middle." Thought it applied ...
