How far apart are your speakers
Three and a half feet from the front wall, seven and a half feet apart and ten and a half feet from the listening position. I would consider this mid-field. Spacious sound with great depth and presence. Imaging and sound-stage are spot on. Very pl...
Downgrading
NO! Never has been in any era. Looking forward to reading the comments posted by those who may feel otherwise. I am sure "opinions" abound.
45rpm gold record?
Could be a find or a promotional piece. If it is brass I would not ruin my stylus trying to play it.
Esoteric SA-10 or Ayre CX-7e: Too close to call??
Over the last two months you have been all over the map asking questions about every piece of equipment.(speaker cable, interconnects, amp, pre, CD players.) Why do you insist on letting a community of audio enthusiasts, whom you have never met an...
Just wanted to share my joy, and ask two questions
That would be a mistake. You may find that in your room with its acoustics that 1/3, 1/4, 1/2 or 2/3rds full sounds best. You will need to listen at various levels to see what sounds best without sucking the life and dynamics from the music.Over ...
Huge Center Channel Hi Grade
Martin Logan used to display quite a large looking center channel speaker IIRC. With your connections I think I would go the custom route.

Best Two-Way Monitor Speakers under $700 New/Used
Those are all great recommendations. I suggest he get out and do some listening. The favorites of complete strangers will not help him to develop his own ear for music and sound preferences. He may as well do a search for $700 and under speakers ...

Do We need a dedicated server on PC format
Tim, If you are active on some other forums as I am (AVS forums, Audio Asylum, Audio Circle, Media Center user grp etc.) I would suggest a group buy scenario. On one the cycling sites I frequent we do group buys for bike frames from the OEM with n...
Do you leave your platter spinning while switching
Wouldn't Delrin, Cork, Copper and Acrylic platters subject the LP to scratches if not plucked perfectly from the platter??? Seems like a good way to ruin many LPs unless you have the reflexes of a cat, Meow!
Do We need a dedicated server on PC format
