Define power hungry...B&W speakers
Thanks for the response. I am considering an Anthem integrated 2 hybrid. Good to know it can power my speakers.
Define power hungry...B&W speakers
So, assuming my speakers line up with the 700 series, how many watts minimum and what current specs would you recommend? Where do I find those current specs on an amplifier or receiver? Thanks again!
Define power hungry...B&W speakers
Thanks ZD542. I appreciate you taking the time to explain, it does make sense. My hope was to have a firm base of specs as I will probably buy used from this site. Without the ability to demo the gear its hard to make the best decision. I do know ...
Define power hungry...B&W speakers
The Musical Fidelity and Classe' brands keep coming up in my research, also Creek and Naim. I have not even considered special cables, power cords etc. I think I prefer a integrated amp to keep costs down. But again, trying to figure out specs to ...

Thanks for the input, please keep it coming! I do need the communities help.
Define power hungry...B&W speakers
Any answers... Amplifier specs don't really matter then? If specs are so subjective why do manufacturer's post damping factor, slew rates, etc. Where do I go to get a foundation of data, that counts, to begin a short list of amplifiers that meet a...

Is naim and B&W a good match?

Good integrated match for B&W CDM 1 NT
Thanks Freediver. How important are cables, lost of controversy in that area throughout the forums. Also, are interconnects critical? If so, how can you be certain you start with the right stuff? I know Monster is not high end, but is it at least ...
Good integrated match for B&W CDM 1 NT
Thanks again for your input. Now more questions... First, a 50-60 watt integrated seems marginal when my Onkyo is 130 watts to 2 channels. I was under the impression that B&W speakers are power hungry and perform better with more power?Secondl...
Good integrated match for B&W CDM 1 NT
Thanks for taking your time to respond!First, I'm uncertain as to what a line stage is, passive or active. Is my Onkyo active? How can I tell? Also, is this something listed in the specs by most equipment manufacturers? Is passive a better match f...
B &W bolt thread size?
My response from B&W is that they should sound better??? And, I should check for a blown tweeter. No blown tweeter on both sides. Anyway, your suggestion is the direction I will pursue. I searched last night for isolator's etc. I'll keep you p...
