pre jef rowland or bat 50 SE the Rowland Model 10, and thought it was one incredible setup - possibly the best I've heard, but it's a synergy (no Rowland pun intended). The BAT is not exactly your standard tubey sound - a bit more analytical. Can you audition each???Good luck,...

Best of the Classe amp line??? 200/201 - 400/401? I have heard the Rowland line and find it to be one of the best. Very honest amps. Cost is a consideration here. The 201 is 1/2 the price of a Rowland Model 10, but then again, the 401 is neck and neck. I owned a McCormack .5 for 5 years, and love...
Classe Amp CA-201 or CA-301 Don't take my word as gospel here, but as I recall, the 201 was just the same as a 200. The 301 was an Omega based system. Now, I did hear a 201 in my system and loved it - warm, but with great control and bass extension, clear highs without being...

Best tubes to use in M3A? Help As I recall, the gain on the M3A is substantial which lends itself to a higher noise floor - so this is what you are working against. The Mullards are well respected, and if Rayhall's friend has had a good experience, they are worth a try.Good luc...
female needs expert advice About swapping out your Classes for a 4BST - particularly if you have to buy "blind", without auditioning the amp in your system. Generally speaking, Classes have a reputation for being a tad "warm" while Brytons, generally speaking, have more of ...
How about those vibrapods under bookshelf speaker And VR-4s weigh something like 160 lbs. Review was, of course, favorable. Cfb is, as usual, right on track as well, at $6.00 a pop, try it and report.Barton

Tube Preamp for Rowland 8Ti the Rowland 10, and thought that the system (w/ the BAT CDP and Vienna Acoustic Mahlers) was one of the most musical I have ever heard, and I'm very picky about saying "best". Tube pre's will (generally) impart some unique sonic signature, so the ...

Amp w/s Outstanding Midrange I had one for five years, only traded up because I changed out my speakers which were difficult to drive. This 100W SS amp is truly one of the finest you will encounter, and can be had in excellent shape for $700 US +/-.Good luck, and good listeni...
looking for good amp 5channel or 7channel BAT VK 6200 can be configured in five channel. I run one with four channels, biamping to two channel, and it's awesome. In a five channel mode, the 6200 has separate, huge output transformers for each channel, and will smoke most others, IMHO. |
