Would a source selector switch degrade sound? Looks like I just duplicated Al's post, guess we were just thinking the same thing at the same time.
Would a source selector switch degrade sound? You can use the Rotel RA-1062, however it will not be as simple as using an integrated amp with HT bypass. Connect the front L/R preout from the AV receiver to any input on the Rotel, except phono. Set the Rotels volume control to minimum. With a...
Mixing Speaker Impedance? Sorry Zd, a vertical bi-amp means using one stereo amp per speaker, therefore L & R are totally independent. Horizontal bi-amp is a one amp for low input of both speakers, and another amp for the high input of both speakers. We will probably n...
Mixing Speaker Impedance? The switch is for the amps protection so that it doesnt get too hot.Wont setting the amp to 4 ohms limit speakers with 8 ohm requirements? This setting limits the amp, since it alters the operation of the amp to run cooler, that typically results ...
Norah Jones She hardly wrote any of the music she sang to get famous. Mostly all covers.Taking a close look at her first 2 albums, this statement seems to be more incorrect than correct.Debut album,She wrote 2; both released as singles, 1 being the title cut...
I know, there is no 'best', but... If good 2 channel is important, then I would go with something that has HT bypass, preamp or integrated amp. This will have the potential for better 2 channel, and give you more flexibility in the future.
5 best selling newish speaker brands in 2013? River251, absolutely loved your paragraph with the crazy descriptions, a very good laugh to start the day.No doubt you should get a long list of recommendations, especially asking for 5 from each one that participates. That really wasnt necessary...
McIntosh MC240 Question In addition to Jjrenman's comment, the input sensitivity with the gain controls is 0.5v, and the one without is 2.0v, so the one without will require more output from the preamp for the same volume level.
ArcamFJM CD36: Can it compete with newer players Sunnyjim, I do not have personal knowledge of the Arcam, and I'm sure it is an excellent player, however, as we all know, the bottom line is system synergy. If you found reviews that said the bass was lean, it could be just that, or an overall bal...
Stereo Amp w/t optical for Dynaudio DM 2/26 I am running them in now but I don't think my current amp (Yamaha RX-V493 which can accept 4 Ohms and above) is cutting it.Can you be more specific about what needs improving with the sound you currently have; bass, treble, clarity, loudness, etc?...
ArcamFJM CD36: Can it compete with newer players If your system has a tendency to be light or thin in the bass, then it may not be a good match. Will this friend let you try the player before committing to the purchase?
Anyone using MM7055 with 4 ohm Speakers? I agree with Mechans, ignoring a manufacturer's guideline is just asking for trouble. Speaker/amp matching is extremely important. A 4 ohm speaker is more demanding on the amp, causing more current draw resulting in more heat. Think of it as conne...
5.1 under 4k? Its only a 2D picture. 2D picture is horrible. You need the right equipment to make 3D photo.Zd542, you must use these,http://www.3dglassesonline.com/our-products/pulfrich-3dthey are the only ones that give you a deep and wide 3D image wenn you we...
The Gear to drive Mini Maggies It seems to me that your choice in amps given the speakers you intend to buy is a bit overkill.Sorry Zd542, I disagree. :-) It is a MAJOR overkill, like running a V-12 in a Mini Cooper.
When do you need a power conditioner Yes, I would think any licensed electrician could do it, however it would be best to search the forums for this and even post your questions, as you need to tell him some details. IMHO, I would run at least 2(1 for analog and 1 for digital), same ... |
