Good Inexpensive Amp for Back Yard Speakers Your Klipsch speakers are pretty efficient, right? Seems like a great opportunity for a chip amp. You don’t have to worry much about it. Buy two so you have a spare. Prepare to be amazed by the SQ if it’s your first time.https://www.ebay.com/itm/F...
Suggestions short 3' tall floorstander? Klipsch Forté III ;)
maybe a floorstander? I'd ask: why would you *not* go with floorstanders? The two reasons I see most often are: the other half objects, and there's not enough space. You said you have lots of space and frankly floorstanders often take up just as much floor space as sta...
Speakers under $50k that rival $200k+ speakers? Short version: Maggies need room to breathe, no matter what anyone says. High ceilings help a lot too. The open secret is that most good speakers of any kind also profit from breathing room!
Anyone experienced with Emerald Physics speakers? Yeah I only heard them once but I was quite impressed. I'd consider owning them if the missus lets me place them out into the room a bit.
Black Ash..... Black ash is the dark hole spawn of Satan. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Black fabric grilles next.

Integrated Amp ideas for Dynaudio Special 40's The Nuprime and Hegel are both well-regarded amps. I might also consider the Rega Brio and the Cambridge CXA60. For your budget, as you say, you can also find a tremendous array of second-hand units including some prestige units.
Recommendations for bookshelf speakers Congrats on the Focals, Cooper. Definitely let us know how you like them.Unlike tower speakers, bookshelf-size speakers are so easily transported that there’s really no reason not to buy and try. Since it’s easy enough to sell the ones that don’t ...
Speakers under $50k that rival $200k+ speakers? And to Nick: Room treatments can be of critical importance, but they don’t confer such bragging rights online. So we tend to hear less about them. People would much rather argue about brand names.
Speakers under $50k that rival $200k+ speakers? Josh358 thanks for your contributions. I see you've been posting knowledgeably about Magnepan speakers for at least a decade now! I agree that they are magnificent at what they do best.
Magnepan LRS compared to the .7 or the 1.7i ? Agree with the remarks upthread that MyeStands or Sound Anchor stands make a tremendous difference esp with the smaller Maggies. Magnepan tries to keep their costs down else they'd include stands like those as standard. |
