Where do you buy Hubbell wall socket? Nex_wave I purchased mine from hcm audio. They are always in stereophile or you can go to www.hcmaudio.com. The price is $29 each or 4 for $99. I have had good service from this dealer. If you go to their website, the sockets are under "connectors...
MIT Term 2 speaker cables...Am I nuts??? Hmbrwd: If the T2's have the terminator boxes(newer versions), possibly your amp doesn't like the more complex load. MIT does make cables that are tube specific. That's my two cents! Tim
Clueless on Bi-Wiring I completely disagree with Leafs.....I have owned several sets of speakers that could be biwired. All of them benefited greatly in biwire mode. Most of the improvement was in midrange clarity and imaging. I recommend bi-amping speakers only if the...
Counterpoint amp (need input) go to www.altavistaaudio.com to find info on the amp. this is Mike Elliot's new website(he was founder and designer of Counterpoint). my experience with the amp was that it would drive difficult speakers easily but if it was not mated with good su...

Integrated for Maggie MMG's I friend of mine had a system of mg 1's and a Tandberg 3012a. That was one of the best imaging systems I have ever heard. The room was very small(8' by 12'). It was rectangular and the speakers were on the short wall. Tim
What is the best transport up 1k-used? I haven't heard to many transports but the Theta Pearl is a real knockout. It is very musical but very detailed with that famous punchy Theta sound. They seem to come up every once in a while for about $700. For less money the Rotel RDD-980 is an ...

Anyone with Spectral Experience? I have had the 12/90 preamp/amp combination and upgraded to the 20 and a second 90 bridged. Only when I went top of the line in MIT cables(shotgun EVO interconnect and 850 CVT speaker cables), dedicated power lines and full complement of MIT line ...
Dedicated power lines for audio? i'd like to thank everyone for all of the helpful info. i just finished installing 4 new outlets on 4 circuits from a sub panel run off of the main box. i went from a 40amp breaker, ran 3 conductor 8 gauge to the subpanel, drove a separate 5/8" gr...
Tube Amp w/Solid State Pre-Amp ????? 59: you'll have to be extremely careful what amp you use with the spectral. the wide bandwidth of the spectral gear is a difficult load for tube driver circuits. depending on the amp, you could have components actually fail in that circuit. of cou...
Best ever made & sounding CD transport ? i agree with ferdinand concerning the theta pearl. incredible musicality with that theta punch and soundstage. i ended up with the jade which has better resolution of inner detail and soundstaging. the pearl is an outstanding value though.
Worst Rock Band Ever !!!! how about "sweet" with songs like "fox on the run" and "ballroom blitz"........ |
