Recommend a budget floor standing speaker less than $1,000
I've recommended this on this forum before. They can't keep this kit in stock,  its an outstanding value for $1500... It needs a good minimum 40 to 50 watts per channel in a normal sized listen room... They really need something capable of 4 ohms....

Very Bad purchase from upscale audio Acoustic Zen Adagio
Previously I had jumped through this thread reading comments here and there..... I just went through and read the entire thread and found where rbogartr posted on the very first page that this was too stressful for him because he recently lost his...
Dac: Does anyhting beat the Schiit Gungnir Multibit (Gumby) in the same price range?
I've done a lot of reading about a lot of DAC's.... I have read on 3 different forums now that the Gustard X20 is beating several $3000 DAC's.... I had no plans on buying a DAC soon,  but I may fold.
Very Bad purchase from upscale audio Acoustic Zen Adagio
This is an odd thread.  I had assumed that the intent of the op was to warn everyone of his experience.  I'm not so sure of that anymore... To be fair, this to all,  I don't know Kevin Deal... and all of us Audiophiles are crazily opinionated.  So...
Used Preamp on a budget advice please.
Of these, I've only heard the Krell, Its not as good as the newer Krells.  I have heard a few Old Classe,   The 6 & 60 are both great, the 6 is a bit darker than the 60.  Also,  look at a Muse Model 3 Signature and an Audio Research LS9,  Migh...

sorry I didn't say... to your question,  yes, it is because their inherent capacitance, without a crossover, they come in on their own at 1800 hz.

Hi   @erik_squires    over the years, at Marcof we heavily modified the old Motorola Piezo's... In the end, a tweeter with the reputation of being harsh and brittle ended up being pretty good.  They are amazingly fast, they remind me of a dryer ve...

@erik_squires  "Well, We're far off topic now"  I was hearing a discussion of trying to blend ribbons with heavier mass drivers and how speed affected the blend with @asvjerry.  You said that you could blend 15 inch woofers.  I was giving a basic ...

Hi Guys,   Looking at the last few comments about mixing light mass drivers with heavy mass drivers,  speed and matching. I recently was on another thread where there was an argument going on about mass and speed.  A lot of folks out there just do...
Aragon 8008ST vs Sumo Andromida III
I've heard both of these and I'd say that you've described them well.... I always thought of the Andromeda III to be a bit lean on bottom, but still providing slam when needed, other than that, I would have written the same thing that you did. It ...
Advice on replacing 12 in woofer in Martin Logan Monolith III's
Thanks for the kind words Steve. I'm glad that it worked out for you.
Preamp for Halo A21 and/or B&K ST2140
The Cambridge as a Dac/Pre combo will do a good job for you, I think that you'll be surprised at how much better the soundstage is over your Rotel... The amps are a different story... No for me,  I find it a no brainer, The Parasound will be faste...
Why are the Infinity IRS, Reference 1b, Beta ect speakers passive on the mids and highs?
Oh Marc,  I haven't had a stereo store in 30 years.... even though I had a good run in 12v.  My roots have always been in the Audiophile world.
Why are the Infinity IRS, Reference 1b, Beta ect speakers passive on the mids and highs?
One of my best friends on the planet is an old timer very respected figure in the audio world.  He uses a 12v crossover with a passive sub, of course, he modded it with some nice parts and built a fully regulated 12v supply, but it does a great jo...
