Klipsch Palladium P-39F? "I have no idea why somebody thinks klipsch is not gunning to be "Horns".. Okay I will play along,"Go to the Klipsch forum and read about the blind test they did against the B&W 802D. This is the market that they are going for."But I think the...
Klipsch Palladium P-39F? These are not meant to compete with other horns, they have a model in each bracket to compete with B&W's 800 series.
Best cartridge for modded Technics 1200 I can't comment on teh carts that you are considering, but I have a Denon DL160 on a Sumiko Headshell that I use with an SL1210. I prefer thsi combo to a VPI Scout and Dynavactor 20x that I previously had.
Best Power amps in $7000 range I can only think of one manufacturer of high end amps that will last 20 years without problems, guaranteed...I love my 7BST's. You can slo look at used Classe CAM 350's or CA-M400's.
Amp/preamp suggestions in $3000-4000 range Rick,Just give Mark Mdeenan a call. I may have spelled his name incorrectly. He is teh owner of Juicy Music and he also designed teh Paragon preamp in the 70's. His service is outstanding. IO had a Peach preamp with Klipschorns a few years back. Y...
Buying a 10 years old loudspeaker I have had many vintage speakers from B&W, JBL and Klipsch. All capacitors (in the crossovers) wear out in about 20 years, even if the speakers are not being used. They are very easy to replace if you know how to solder. However, some speaker ...
Which is the top dog in "subs"? I agree with RAS. I use a JL Audio F113 with B&W S800's. Easy as can be to set up. I do not know what you are using for your mains but I run mine full range so no active crossover is needed. The other question is why do you need a remote for y...
B&W Matrix tweeter repair Contact the B&W part department. B&W 800-370-3740If teh part is not available, try a few dropt of some weak glue that can be removed easily (like Elmer's glue)
pass labs 350.5 vs bryston 7 bsst to drive b&w 802 I keep reading on the B&W forum that Bryston amps are just OK, or harsh and shrill. The funny thing is that a few years a go the Brystons were recommended on the same forum. You just cannot trust forums. I have 7b ST's that I used with N801's ...
Speaker setup experts please? Read through teh Wilson set up guide. If I remember correctly, it should answer many of your questions. For example, placement distance into the room is dictaed by how far you need to be away from the walls to avoid the first reflection.
McIntosh MC275V monos versus MC501 monos? On the Klipsch Forum, the coveted tube amps are VRD's made by NOS Valves. They are 60 wpc. FWIW 75 shoudl do it.
Klipsch Cornwall Equivalent? For the price of used Cornwalls you are going to be very hard pressed to do better, especially if you repalce the caps in the crossovers.
McIntosh MC275V monos versus MC501 monos? If you have a 275 isn't that 2 x 75 wpc? That is plenty of power for a pair of Cornwalls. Klipsch heritage speakers do not need very much power, especially if you are using tubes.
Best Integrated Amp? Help... I have had great sucess with Musical Fidelity and B&W 800 series. I have an A308CR preamp and Bryston 7b ST monoblocks. The MF A308 has a "tubelike" top end that works very well with nautilus tweeters. I have heard many say that Nautilus tweet...
