Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Breaking news to you @scott22: people who buy expensive cables do so with after tax money. Meaning the government wants their share first, and you get to spend what’s left after from your gross income after taxes withheld either through payroll or...

Steve @williewonka : you are 100% spot on with your very knowledgeable posts. However, I am afraid you are wasting your time with “Audio BS” types. You may not realize, but their hobby is not the audio hobby. Their hobby is hating the audio hobby....

Audio BS Facebook group?! LOL!!! You guys of Audio BS are so much into BS, that you are clearly BS-ing yourself with your made up BS story. Doesn’t it get a bit boring discussing BS among yourselves all the time? Sad life my friend, too bad you sp...

Good advice on letting ears be the guide, but how about those amongst us who don’t trust their ears whatsoever, and look for “measurements “ to make any decisions? 🤪And yes, you can buy and try 20 cables. Not at once, but over time. It’s fun. Expe...

twoleftears2,772 posts07-21-2020 1:45pmI quoted Wireworld's claims above. Can anybody comment on them with some reasonable degree of level-headed knowledge/insight? That "low triboelectric noise" refers to their insulation, what they call Comp...

Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Someone must be buying, right? Example: me --- for every cable I sell, I buy another one to replace it.And not all prices are very high. There are plenty of cables for sale at very good prices, for any budget. For example: me (again): I only buy w...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
@mapman  --- not sure I understand your point. People buy and sell stuff all the time. Look at other stuff here, not just cables. Cables are actually the easiest to sell / buy used, because they are very easy to pack and ship, and very cheap to sh...

mapman17,350 posts07-20-2020 1:09pmIf the cables are worth it why are there always so many for sale here? They should be hard to find like other high quality gear that is worth it.   The 4 figure wires appear to be a dime a dozen. Simple: peop...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Kimber Kable cables is a less complex braided geometry, but much better than a simple lamp cord - the "cable" is built by machine and they are pretty easy to add connectors, so they tend to be more affordable, but they are not as good as the oth...
