2 Aerial cc3's as rears ?
I think they would work great. Less diffuse rear soundstage than the SR3s, but better IMO for multi-channel music. Optimum would be 5 CC3's, with only the center in a horizontal configuration, crossed to a quality sub. That would be choice.Tom
SILVERLINE SONATA II-giant killer?
Bob,Based on what you've listed as your desires, I'd say you should pass on the Sonata II. Great speaker, which I've owned, but really more suited for tubes, especially low(er) powered SET. Huge soundstage, but not very detailed. Woody, more diffu...
Speaker Impedance, Tenor OTLs, and Watt Puppies
Hayden,Comments are spot on. I'm curently evaluating the Tenor 75wi with a pair of SF Amati Homage (4ohm, with a maximum of 7.8 ohms, but a value below 6 ohms in the midrange and below 4 ohms in the bass and high treble -- Stereophile measurements...
What equipment do you really like?
Tenor 75wi -- arriving in my house this Friday. Yeah!Rockport Serius System III Turntable -- not arriving in my house any time soon. 75,000 bling-bling is A LOT of cheese.God, I'd love to have that table...
Do you listen to your heart or your eye?
When it's off and sitting in the middle of the living room, then no. Then, it becaomes another piece of furniture. Depending upon domestic situation, that can either be no big deal or THE big deal :)Also, I take "looks" to me other things: i.e. si...
what are the best couple of cassandra wilson cd's
Blue Light Til Dawn, then New Moon Daughter.Travelling Miles is very good, but eccentric. Her newest, Belly of the Sun, is excellent, and may end up ranking with Blue Light. Very diverse range of styles and genres on exhibit. You can;t go wrong with...
Do you listen to your heart or your eye?
The sound is paramount, but for me, looks (including fit n' finish and "fit" in the room/rack, are also important.)It's the same as if you buy a car -- it can drive great, but look like crap, or built cheaply, or not fit in the grarage. I wouldn't...

Really fantastic. A little more pricer than others, but something special. Purchased some for an EAR V20 from Kevin at Upscale Audio.
Hi: I am looking at silverline Lafolia
According to Alan Yun, the driver sourcing issue has been resolved. One of the latest BFS mentions this, and Alan Yun confirms it. IMO it's a fabulous speaker at the price point.
Argent Room Lenses?
They are my favorite "acoustic treatment". Very flexible in regards to positioning and impact. Since my Amati's are rear ported, I find that placing one behind each speaker, in-line with the center-line of the speaker is fabulous.Just ordered a se...
Special Spectral??
Aball,I own the newest Spectral, and run them with Souns Faber Amati Homage. While the Spectral gear is very neutral, some of the older stuff, such as the DMC-12, are on the lean side. The Wilsons I have heard with other, "warmer" solid state gear...
15k blues
Always use FedEx COD, both as a buyer and seller.
2 channel Poll: Vote: Do you use Tubes or SS?
Both. Spectral (SS) preamp and amp. CJ (tube) phono preamp. Sounds wonderful.TRH
How does MIT vary the impedance of their cables?
Clueless,Unless I'm mistaken, most speaker crossovers are "buried" in epoxy to improve performance by reducing vibrations.Just a different, non-cynical, view.TRH
Equi=Tech Balanced Power vs. ?
George2 is incorrect. The EquiTech DOES have a detachable power cord. I've owned and used the following, with Synergistic Designer's Reference Squared power cords:ExactPower 2000PowerPlant 600EquiTech 2QMIT Z Stabilizer II and Z-Iso Duo.I've kept ...
