Good to know!  verdantaudio, when you say new, does that mean these are new as opposed to NOS?  aka current production?  Where did you purchase these?For these tubes, at some point I was told normal burn-in time is 15-25 hours, do y'all agree?

Wow thanks guys, much appreciated!  Telefunken is on my radar and actually would be top of the list except for cost, now I can add Siemens to the hunt.  I had kinda ruled out Gold Lions but maybe I'll reconsider, after all, how do you really know ...

j-wall, if/when you can get MBV's Loveless to not sound shouty at reasonable (90-95 dB) levels, please let me know how you did it!  This is on my audio bucket list.  And I agree with recommendation to let them settle in for hundreds of hours befor...

Free improvement to SQ - a great thing!  I remember when I got a new chair and couldn't figure out what wasn't quite right, took a while but when I realized my ears were a few inches further off the the ground and adjusted speaker height to compen...

He certainly had a philosophy re audio.  Wonder what his belief was re if different cassette tapes sound different, something friends and I argued about incessantly when trading mixtapes.  BTW, they do!

I have wondered the same thing, and for a while I'd been messaging the sellers, asking why they were moving on, and the consistent reply was "moving up the food chain."  So to me the explanation is simple - many were sold esp in the last 3-5 years...

So in this case it's all about the added functionality provided with the Sonos device, and ensuring it sounds as good as possible, as opposed to finding a streamer that outperforms the Bridge II.  And Porsches.
