Kt 88 Makes a good point..My feedback was based only on the El34 SED cryo quads I purchased..I do use Ei 12ax7 cryo tubes from Tubeman.com and I am very happy with them ..But as I mention my feedback to your post was based on only the El34 tubes y...

Yah : I tried the Winged "C" EL34 cryo'd quad ( Thor Monos ) and did not care for them at all..At first I thought they were decent but noticed I was missing detail...Quite a bit warmer than the un cryo'd quad..If you need more " Color" they might ...

I suppose its very possible the internal tonearm connections have worked loose,,..Anything is possible while if the turntable was shipped to you.. I had an issue awhile back similar and found that the tonearm wire I ( internally ) was almost total...

Could be you are using a lower output cartridge that your phono section does not have enough gain..........Possibly a M/Coil cartridge and you phono section is only capable of High output M/M cartridges.............

It all comes down to "Homework" ..As mentioned in other reply,,Whats good for one may not be so for others..It takes dedicated time and effort ( and sometimes years ) on ones part..Try not to buy too many pieces at one time so as to know which dir...

Try the Paul Speltz anit cables at less than half the price and give you as much or more performance ( read the reviews ) than the cables your inquiring about....

The only other thing I could think of is check to see how much spacer you have between cartridge and headshell and possibly remove and either go to a thinner one or remove it completly and see how its sounds..You may have to run with the arm tilte...

Alex333 : The SP9 in my opinion would be a "Bad" mistake..The SP 9 in my opinion are threadbare and very lean sounding...This would not be the direction you asked about...An Audio Rsearch SP 6,8,10 or 11 is a whole different story...

You should be able to adjust the height of the arm/headshell support..There should be a allen head screw at the base of the arm support.Just loosen the allen screw and reset ( raise ) the height of the support and retighten the allen screw to hold...

I would suggest adding a Virtual Dynamics nite ( used or new Nite 2 or newer ) Power cord to your amp and/or Cd player..These cords are sweet and have tremendous dynamics without giving up the magic midrange...There are always good deals on the Ni...

I would actually ( don't know your price range ) jump on the Audio Research SP 11 full function preamp( listed in this site ) .This piece is listed as just returned from A/Resarch for check up ..This would be just what the doctor ordered for you.....

Try pulling the plug disconnecting the television from the circuit..It sounds like interference from having the stereo and television cable on the same circuit..You may need to seperate ( different dedicated lines ) the two..............
