Sony Playstation 1 for a CD player ??? The problem might be with the power supply. Depending on your unit's history, some components like the caps can go bad from prolonged exposure to heat inside the enclosure. Thanks Rhing. So is this not a normal issue for these units? I do have ano...
What's wrong? Nuforce/Capri no better than Sunfire Jim, thanks for your input. IME, improvements have been more subtle then not. For the many upgrades and tweaks I've been through, I can count on one hand what I would call both immediate and significant upgrades. I guess it depends also on what yo...
What's wrong? Nuforce/Capri no better than Sunfire Your point regarding "knowing what to listen for" is an interesting one, and one that was brought up by a reviewer friend of mine. Perhaps I need that education, but what bothers me about that is, why do I need to "learn" to notice what I "should"...
Sony Playstation 1 for a CD player ??? Anyone experience a balance issue with the ps1? Seems like the L channel is weighted slightly more then R. I inserted another ps1 that I had on hand and perceived the same thing. Playing cd's with my dvd player however the sound becomes more cente...
Sony Playstation 1 for a CD player ??? Reviving this in hopes someone out there has experience with troubleshooting. Last night it worked fine. Tonight it doesn't read any cd's -- they just continually spin inside. I thought perhaps it was a laser issue but when I turned the unit off a...
Anyone in the Central Ca? Hey Rick, I started a thread re: Central Coast CA club or interest. Glad to hear there's at least one more besides me! It would be great to get a few of us together. I feel like I'm doing this in a cave.
Anyone in the Central Ca? Suppose I should clarify, I would be on the Central COAST
Anyone in the Central Ca? I'm in Atascadero, CA, near San Luis Obispo. Would love to find some nearby audio nuts.
You know you're an audiophile if-- You freak out if you can't think of anything to upgrade.
You know you're an audiophile if-- You can relate to over 90% of these posts
The little guys? One point the OP made was that he would like everything from the same brand.
The little guys? Good point. Most 'little guys' are cool audio nuts themselves that will let you demo for a period. If I'm buying new, I never buy w/o one.
Which cable has most impact - IC, Spkr., power? ...like I said, nowhere! My experience is that everyone's components react differently to cabling, as is everyone's power quality. Never has YMMV been more true.
Which cable has most impact - IC, Spkr., power? Yeah, i think you'll get nowhere with this.
The little guys? 47 Labs OTA Stratos. Complete kit to do your entire rig for ~$700 (IC's and speaker wire, not PC). Interesting stuff of the 'less is more' camp. I use it and like it a lot. |
